Ruin Islets
Many piles of stone are not rally natural. They are yet another reminder of how much was destroyed in the collapse.
Overview
Many Ancient Ruins have not remained intact nor even remained in place. Plenty of debris was moved around and had collected in piles small and great all across Awldor, even in the sea. Disturbing any of these mounds of loose material can yield unexpected rewards as well as unleash unexpected dangers. Investigate them at your peril. Many ruin islets can be difficult to get to due to the inherent dangers of navigating a ship over shallow rock ridden waters where these islets are usually found. Two particularly large concentrations of ruin islets are located to the north and south of Visus Island. The Rewards
One can find artifacts and relics buried within the loose if tightly compacted debris. Even ancient tools and records have been found preserved from the elements within these compacted piles of debris. These islets can also yield useful building material if it contains anything useful and the dangers are acceptable. The Dangers
Many islets are often laced with still charged wild magics from the collapse. Disturbing these piles of stone can unleash the wild magics within them effectively making the islets magic traps. Other dangers include Undead and other monsters. In some cases, certain ancient constructs were discovered that proved fatal to the discoverer.Land Islets
Technically piles, there are compacted mounds of debris found on land. They bear the same set of attributes, even rewards and dangers, as their sea bound counterparts.

I really love how these can either be treasure or traps. And poor Archivist Bob's beard! D:
