Overview

The Turtas Mines are the primary source of minerals and metals for the Garden Town of Oazė. It lies underneath the southern slopes of the Forrevne Mountains, near the town it supports.

Glimmering

The greatest wealth of the Mirgeti Mines is its copious quantities of gemstones. The gems have proven to be the greatest source of revenue for Oaze so far. It is said that the walls glimmered when the mines were still fresh and full of resources. The spectacle became widely known in Oaze, with several artists painting or otherwise drawing their own renditions of the sight. Bards have even woven tales of couples enjoying their time in a colorful cave within Mirgėti Mines.

What will Oaze do if the water is polluted? No one can say for certain.

Aquifer Danger

Many are concerned about the mine's location near the Turtas Aquifer, which feeds Oaze's water well. While rules are in place to discourage the miners from digging downward there is reason to suspect that these may either be changed or ignored. For one thing, minerals and metals that used to be found in abundance are become more and more scarce to find. Second, evidence suggests that more valuable resources can be located beneath the mine, closer to the aquifer. Some fear that there is a hidden mine shaft that has already breached the aquifer, and that it is only a matter of time before polluted water is extracted from the well.
