Helian Fire Galley

The Helians weren't about to let a minor inconvenience like water keep them from playing with fire. - Nym Yellynn, Lunarian Sailor

Overview

No other vessel can spit Helian Fire on their enemies quite as well as the Helian Fire Galley.

Helian Fire Spitter

The workings of this device, much less Helian Fire itself, is a state secret. The Helian Fire Spitter is capable of spewing a large stream of continuous fire that will set fire to anything it touches. The device appears to have two modes: a thin, high pressure stream that maximizes range; and a wide "fan" setting that will set fire to a large area.   While its range is comparatively short to the standard balista (50ft, or 15m), it is almost twice that of other like-kind devices that are known. The Kingdom of Helia continues to improve upon the capabilities of the device.

High Mobility

Helian Fire Galleys are highly mobile, which allows them to quickly position their fire cannon for a killing shot. The mobility of these ships also grants some ability to evade enemy fire or ramming attempts. However, the high mobility of these ships came at the cost of stability. It is not unusual for one of these ships to roll over when turning too hard. The Helian Navy is attempting to resolve this design flaw, but Helian naval knowledge is somewhat limited compared to the Queendom of Lunaria or the Free City-State of Centrum.

Note(s) from the Archivists:

And here I was thinking that you were safe from fire when in water. Of course, the Helians figured out how to bring it with them even there. - Archivist Savitri   Technically, you can still be safe from Helian Fire if you can stay under the water. - Archivist Tharivol   Sounds great, but I don't have gills that could allow me to stay there. - Archivist Savitri   But we do have spells and potions. - Archivist Tharivol   That's actually a good point. - Archivist Savitri
