Helian Army
The "Golden Blight" relies on the intelligent application of brute force.
Overview
Commonly referred to as the "Golden Blight," This military organization has been one of the greatest and most influential institutions in the Kingdom of Helia throughout its history. The Kingdom has poured most of their resources into fielding the largest war machine seen on the continent since before the The Great Collapse.Training
Good training is a prerequisite to a competent military force. It is no surprise then that the Helian Army has implemented ever more comprehensive training courses for their specialized divisions. Even the rank and file "fodder" is given brief training courses on military formations and tactics before deployed in actual combat. Helian commanders are given a far more comprehensive course of combat theory and leadership training. These commanders can spend years studying past combat engagements as well as to study what can be learned of other armies (Lunaria in particular these days) to learn as much as can be learned. They are also challenged to theorize new ways to wage war and to apply their thoughts to past battles.Tactics
One could be forgiven for thinking that the Helian Army relies exclusively on brute force to accomplish its objectives. While this is partly true, it is far from a comprehensive appreciation of the tactics at work. It isn't that the Helian Army just applies brute force to almost every situation, they know when and where to apply it and by how much. Battles against the Helian Army can occur and end so suddenly that the nuances of troop movements often go unnoticed. This is a desired outcome for the Helian commander. The use of Helian Fire also helps.Potential Weakness
As the Kingdom expands so too does the land they need to secure. Their rapid expansion is likely to leave their armies overextended and therefore increasingly difficult to resupply and organize. The Kingdom's fixation on developing on large Radiant City of Sol could also become a problem.Note(s) from the Archivists:
It seems like the Helian Army doesn't give themselves enough time to consolidate and solidify their gains in their need for rapid expansion. You would think they would recognize their growing problem. - Archivist Edward They need to expand to keep to maintain their way of life. Stopping would only let attentions wander to the cracks in their society. This would no doubt breed internal conflict especially between the established peoples and the newly indoctrinated. Many are willing to remain content for a little longer as long as new things are had from ever stranger lands . - Archivist Taenya NaïloRemove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
