He was a rival to Amaya Pneuma, he has spent his life in the pursuit of amassing vast fortunes through any means. He was born into the Ophiucus family, an aristocratic family that has great influence over the city of Centrum and its surrounding territories. It was no secret that he eventually wanted to take control of the Centrum Director's Council. He often said that Centrum lacked aggression concerning the expansion of the city's business activities. He often cited the rising power of Kingdom of Helia as cause for concern, noting that eventually the Kingdom would turn its attention towards the free city. While he never said so publicly, those that have known him have claimed that Pontius also feared the Queendom of Lunaria, perhaps moreso than Helia.

Motivation

Pontius desired to eventually control the Free City of Centrum by buying out a seat on the Director's Council. His goal once in control was to increase the pace with which the city formed partnerships with foreign businesses, if not outright buying out said businesses. He wanted to ensure that Centrum would not be overpowered by the larger neighbors of Helia and Lunaria. Secretly, however, he had hoped to beat either country in becoming an empire. That means he eventually saw himself as Emperor of Centrum, managing the wealthiest state ever to emerge on the continent since before The Great Collapse .
