Cursed Commodities

New Notebook! My old one didn't survive the Bonk Conch. Man has it been a trip. I'm deaf now. Apparently, Stilga is a cursed savior? Freebooters Bay is loud and dirty but I love it.

Big Bird is evil

We fought the Bhargrest. We killed a couple. Daelg is scary. It was very alarming and I was not too fond of it.   We found their little hoards. It had some neat items and some potions. We discussed the normalcy of cannibalism while hiking up than climbing the cliff face to find the large bird feathers.

The Dreamers Lament

We have been on Dreamers delve for a few days. We sold the goods we took off of the Zephyr and met an aspiring blacksmith. His dad was famous and I found his old sword in the back room by being a rat.   When we caught up with Stilga, Daelg, and Brea we found them at the Shore of Dreams. The Triton woman barkeep, Pisca, offered us a job retrieve a mer treasure for 25% cut and will give us free room and board in return. We drank, arm wrestled, and made some friends. As we readied for bed, the tavern was attacked by a group of bandits we learned were actually sent by and members of the Sea Wraiths. They were after the kitchen girl Merasa.   Interrogation and questions   KILL THE FIENDS

Northernly

Our ship was christened. we sailed north after some arguing about direction. Brea interrogated me about Nani and the possible sea dragon. I braided Stilga's hair and it looked like Kalibek and Daelg had a nice chat.   WEAK writings for this week but I am excited to be back on the open see and headed towards Free Booters Bay.

Of Parrots and Pigs

Well the ship was not as big a deal as we thought. Captain Merle Peggsworthy, a freeship? free captain? Whatever those guys are called sailed into port, not realizing that we were in port because no one signaled from the watch tower.   At Rickety's request (and for more money off the ship) we went to check it out. We fought some boars on the way! I summoned a big tiger to help out, who I named diego. When we got to the lookout point Johan was dead, likely killed by the wasps and his parrot was flying around telling us and the flies to shoo off his corpse. I lured the bird back, much to GReedy's dismay and rehomed him with Stilga. We turned him over to rickety to be buried.   Rickety gave us some information of Peggsworthy. A strong crusader against slave ships, he was able to give Kalibek some information and confidence surrounding the bastards known as the "Sea Wraiths". They sound like really bad news, but very difficult to find. Hopefully we can find the colors that imprisoned Kalibek and blow them from the waters.   We discussed next steps with a ridiculous amount of bickering and putting of things in pockets, but we managed to list out some ideas. Apparently the new guy Daelg is looking for god. Well a god. The Fathoms Maw? It's not the Sahooligan god but it sounds mightily similar. I don't know about that. He was alarmed to learn there are other gods but stuck to his pilgrimage plan. Brea's easy seemingly, but I have a feeling there is more to tell there. Stilga is still seeking her father Sigmund.   Brea asked what I was looking for. It's the first time someone other than stilga has asked. I told them about Nani and the maybe sea dragon. They didn't quite know what to think, but our discussion was interrupted by the announcement that our ship was ready to go.

New Pals for Setting Sail

After getting out of the ocean and dismissing my shark friend, I found Stilga and Kalibek awkwardly staring at two new people. One was a massive lizard guy! He was pretty cool looking. The scars look a little painful but I hope they aren't. He was pretty nice. Oh his name is Daelg. The other one, the woman Brea, she seems like a party. She was very intoxicated the entire time. Apparently she's been drinking since she was 4. That sounds not so good to me, but who knows? Maybe humans are different from Aasimars?   They both wanted to join the crew. I said it should be okay after we check with Lunadris and Karesh, the whole conversation was a lot of people talking over each other. They say they have crew experience and only one bad reference between them. That's not bad for people looking to rip off the bureaucracy!   Eventually, we went to the bar and got them checked in with Karesh. Then we went back to the beach and went bowling. That was interesting. I don't really see the appeal of playing the game over and over though, so I build a little sand castle. I finally got to fix Stilga's hair, it doesn't look like she got drag upside down along the sea floor any more. No one else wanted braids. Bummer.   These people are really touchy for people who don't like to be touched. The longer I'm with them, the more I wonder if they had any love in their childhoods. I know stilga did, for a little while. Kalibek, probably not on account of the whole being enslaved thing. Brea said she was born on a ship and seems reliant on labeling us with family titles. She called me a mom and kalibek a dad. A little strange. They also seemed confused about sandcastle making. Why wouldn't you want to make cool things with the earth? It's fun. Kalibek called my life before simple. I argued it wasn't. I don't think our lives at Home are simple. I think they are peaceful and I'm gathering that most people who have set out on the sea did not have peaceful lives. LIKE A LITERAL 12 year old, Jack, works on our ship. It's all very strange.   Even stranger and a little scary - a ship from the continent showed up in the bay. From the demonic country. That can't be good. Why does trouble always seem to find us?

Dammed or Damned?

The Giant Beaver had a major attitude problem. I kinda wanted to kick his ass, but it felt wrong. The crew discussed it, eventually deciding that killing the Badger while not the best choice ethically, was the better choice for survivability. So I decided to blast apart the damn with lightning to draw it out. Then with a little help from Lunadris, I blasted the beaver apart as well. After a moment of panic, I confirmed there were no baby beavers before destroying the rest of the dam.   We headed downstream and confirmed the wasps were eased. We settled into a camp and got talking. We determined that Kalibek's hallucinations were in fact ghosts. Stilga stepped between planes to ensure this. We discussed solutions before going to sleep. This makes me very uncomfortable.     The next day we returned to town, seeking out Rickety to report what happened and how to make sure the wasps stay mellow in the future. We then approached Jorah about ghosts as he had already cured Algar of the curse. We learned destroying magic items and haunted items required powerful magics, a dragon, or a volcano. I've always wanted to throw something into a volcano.   Lunadris brought up calling on Skuhonim, asking if he would be interested in destroying the black powder bag. But decided against it. He went to check in on the crew.   Stilga and Kalibek went to check on the Zephyr and Alyssa Brand.   The citizens of the island invited us to play 9 pins and drink beer. We accepted. When trying to pull the beer to shore, one of the people got pulled under. We followed to save him. We encountered a snakey eel looking woman. Stilga kicked her ass. I summoned a shark and got to goof around with it.

Oh Dam.

We agreed to help out Rickety with the wasp problem for a discount on our ship. We headed back to camp to wait for Jorah, cleric of the wandering god. He tried to remove Kalibek's hallucinogenic curse. Momentarily it seemed to work. But it did not last.   This led to a devolution of the conversation, Kalibek freaking out and shouting at Lunadris, and Lunadris responded. Something is off with Lunadris on top of this possible haunting of Kal. This is not a good sign in my opinion. I tried to comfort Kalibek and sent Stilga after Lunadris. Kalibek continues to have active hallucinations that require monitoring.   We eventually headed out into the forest to find and destroy the wasps. After a long trek through the dried-out and droughted jungle, we found the nest. Stilga determined we could divert the issue by hydrating the area so the wasps didn't need to journey towards the coast. I soaked the area with a tidal wave and we headed upstream to seek out the source of the water problems.   We located a large beaver dam. Seemingly a giant beaver lives within. I turned into a beaver to try to negotiate with them.

Wispy Wasps

I'm finally free of the Sea Mother's Blessing! Its a mixed bag of feeling really freeing and being a little bit of a bummer.   It's been a pretty mellow couple of days, we talked a bit. I learned more about the weirdness around Stilga, apparently, she has some sort of ability to harm those around her in a fight, more than I've seen. I wonder if she is additionally cursed especially with the description of Blood fire. I tried to encourage her that she has the ability to heal as well. She can seize her future and how she used them.   WE NAMED THE SHIP! After the volley of names being thrown around, we decided on the "Sea Hooligan" with a couple of the others becoming the names of the long boats.   I learned how to make a potion of healing before we fought some wasps! They were some big bugs! Stilga harvested some of their venoms, hopefully, it will have some sort of use in our new potion-making. Oh yeah, I've figured out how to make some healing potions, those should hopefully come in handy.

Changing things up

The people of the island agreed to change the lines on our ship for 5000g, which seemed to be a good deal. We plan to pay them in gems and valuables. Captain Lunadris split up the coinage among us all and I was able to buy some much-needed magical supplies with it. Hopefully, the kit will better equip me to heal everyone and keep our crew breathing. Plus Stilga found someone who could possibly remove the Blessing of the Sea Mother from us. It seems to have worked on Kalibek but time will tell for sure. He should hopefully be able to help us all while we are on land for the next week.   I have other news. There are reports of the beast that took Nani, or something like it to the south of our current heading. A Dragon of the Sea, but not a Turtle Dragon. I will have to ask Skohonimum if we see him again. I have an idea on how to possibly find her or rather... find out if she is alive.

After While Crocodile

We sailed from Crocodile Isle after some failed attempts to get water. But Hey! I can turn others into animals now! I turned Stilga into an eagle with yellow feet!   After leaving we sailed towards an island that looked like it would have water. On the way there we encountered a massive oak? tree floating on top of the water. No roots, but seemingly a normal tree. Definitely the effects of wild magic! Lunadris was very interested in getting the fruit from it, but I did;t think it was a good idea. Things like that are worrying. The isles continue to be affected by some kind of Wild Magic Surge. The captain kind of disappeared at that.   The rest of us spent some time bonding and speaking on the ship. Kalibek clarified that he doesn't actually dislike me, but realizes he was rough on me. I also talked some w ith Stilga. She gave us some bread that was pretty gross. She is trying though! This whole crew seemed to be a team of odd ducks. Everyone seems to agree that Lunadris is acting a little off. Maybe the responsibilities of captainship are getting to his head.   I convinced Kalibek to help me train Greedy. A bird with seemingly limitless magical echoing ability learning to echo healing spells could be so useful! He didn't want to cast healing spells unless someone needed them. Easy solution! I convinced Stilga and Algar to do some sparring. It worked. On the last round of the fight after a few failures, Greedy mimicked the spell! It was a shallow victory though, because he is also now mimicking curse words.   We are nearing the port that Ka'resh said was supposed to be able to reline the ship. When we arrived they asked to come aboard, so that is where I leave you.

Here Birdy Birdy

We were able to return to the ship with ease. After some discussion, we passed out the loot from the Tooth. I got an elemental summoning stone and a ring of spell storing. We rested and took some time to recover from the fights before meeting up with Captain Brand.   Lunadris spoke to her for a bit before I joined in. Luckily our medic is good at her job and she was feeling better. After some information on how she ended up in the situation, we decided to visit the craniform to see if they would be able to reverse the sea rite. I figured they couldn't, and they confirmed it. We will need to find a high-power magic user or a cleric to help remove the rite from our bodies. Sooner the better. Plus we need to remove the curses from Lunadris and more importantly Kalibek before he hurts someone with his hallucinations.   Stilga and I split off after returning to the ship to try to catch one of those neat Arcane repeating parrots. We rowed back to show and managed to find one pretty quickly. We made a little cage trap and tried to lure one in, but instead we lured a Giant Sloth who was taking it's weekly constitutional. He was pretty friendly when I talked to him and gave him a snack. I was able to, with Stilga's help, gather more nuts and berries to lure the parrots in with my voice. It worked a little too well and they were swarming me. Ultimately we were able to lure one I have decided to call Greedy. Lunadris wouldn't let me put it in his cabin because it would be messy which I think was pretty lame. Stilga helped me build a neat little house for Greedy.

Well We Lived

The fight was close. Killing the king and queen sahuagin cost us a lot. Most of the party was badly wounded and exhausted. We come out the other end okay. We found a large stash of magical items, weapons, and money! Hopefully, this will be enough to rerig the ship and start off into the blue again. We also found someone we assume to be Alyssa Brand, despite the other body we found earlier. She was floating in a weird jellyfish. I was able to use the last of my magical energy to give her the ability to breathe water.   We ran into the Water Woman from the Place of Prisms when we tried to leave. Gahma? Gama? (Still not sure) With some back and forth and minor offense we were able to convince her to help us escape to the tunnel we entered through. We escaped out of the tunnel and returned to the ship. Once on board, Lunadris identified our loot and we had the ship's medic check over Captain Brand. Now we sail back towards Crocodile Ilse to hand off some loot to Skuhonim and maybe kidnap a parrot.   I'm tired but very glad we survived.

And Into the Fire

We met a weird large woman named, Gama? Gahma? I am unsure what her purpose is truly, but she seemed genuinely displeased by the lies that we intended to eat the crew of the Zephyr. Hopefully, her apathy will keep her from telling. Though with what we face I am unsure who she could tell. We have left very few alive in the building so far.   Trying a different approach, Kalibek was sent in disguised as a sahaugin to try and break up the guards in the floor below. That failed and he was instantly attacked. Once more, Kalibek nearly died. We need to find him some better armor or protective enchantments.   We fought several 4 armed sauhaugin, myself in TorriEel form, of as Kalibek called me Eelielle. We managed the fight okay, with minimal injuries aside from Kalibek's ones as mentioned earlier. We found a room of children/small sauhaugin fighting. Algar didn't want to kill them and I agreed. After a brief debate, it was decided that we would attack the room with doom and cannibalism in Dazovas' name on it. I will update this entry on the other side of the fight to come.   ____ UPDATE____   This is not going so well

Out of the Frying Pan

Our searching proved fruitful, we found a good deal of random and potentially valuable items in the rooms. One of the rooms held some snoozing sahaugins. We voted not to kill them in their sleep, it felt wrong. That proved to be the wrong choice, they snuck up and attacked us from behind. They nearly killed Kalibek and Patruska. Not Good. I summoned some octopi from the deep, drawing inspiration from Lunadris' companion Gil. We survived the combat.   OH! During it, Lunadris was banished back to the plane of water. He mentioned that someone helped him get back to us. A potential ally? We could use the help sometimes.   We fought so many sahaugin. Some had magic, some 4 arms—even a sea troll. Figuring out how to kill that thing was not fun. We managed to rest somewhere on the floors above. It was much needed, we nearly died several times.   Digging in the rooms for supplies, we managed to find more useful things in the boxes, including a seemingly magical necklace. We found worshippers of the Shark God Dazovas the Devourer. That was my fault. I opened a box and was enchanted to believe I worshipped him. I fought with my crew and led them into a temple to this destructive deity. When I seemed to not make sense, Kalibek tried to dig into my mind. Even addled I was able to force him out before the enchantment overtook me.   In the temple, with it's carved reliefs and bloody scenes, I was attacked within but the pain helped me shake the enchantment. We defeated the sahaugin priests and worshippers, then settled into rest and heal some.   I need to be more careful. Once again the world has shown me that curiosity isn't always a good thing. I think I will leave the digging to someone else next time. The thought of being ripped apart for some zealot's worship is terrifying. If we survive finding the rest of the Zephyr crew I need to think through my goals here. Money is good, this crew is discombulatingly efficient despite our chaotic nature. We can't continuously stock this turtle-dragon. We have our own ends and means, individually and as a crew, that require coin.   We ready to fight on.

Slippery Situations

Being a shark seems to just not be my thing. I tried to scout ahead, but the Sahooligans commanded me away. Not fun, especially because I couldn't seem to shake it. It took Lunadris messaging me repeatedly to break through their orders. I did not like that at all. We were able to beat the two fighting Sahooligans, they were pretty strong. Swole-hooligans if you will. But between Algar being enlarged and Stilga, we fought through them pretty easily. I helped in the fight and was able to heal Algar some. The strong ones were able to pull open the grates to get into "The Tooth". The jail beneath held numerous beings we learned were being kept to fight in the ring above.   There was a Giantess named Jathor, a sea elf princess spy named Patruska, several Craniform, an Eye of the Deep, and a snake. We freed all but the snake. The Eye of the Deep left with little fuss thanks to Algar's knowledge of what it was. Patruska is good with a dagger, she joined us in going further into the "Tooth". Between Patruska and Lunadris, we were able to get the Command Collar off of the giantess. It was keeping her enslaved. Patruska, being a sea elf is blue. Like Lunadris. I sense something there. The amount of eye contact I've been making with Stilga suggests she agrees with me.   After a power rest, we swam deeper. I got to test out a Giant Eel form. Being Torri-eel was cool. Sharp bite and good damage absorption. We fought 6 Sahaugins who were torturing a craniform. We killed them, Patruska showed herself to be very powerful. The craniform was able to direct us deeper into the tooth to find the "Meat Locker" where we had learned from the prisoners where the remaining crewmates of the Zephyr should be.   With the help of Gil the Octopus, we have started checking doors looking for supplies. Many of us are wounded and beginning to tire, but we have to complete this task. If we are lucky, the King with have valuables that will be enough for our Dragon Turtle "buddy" and keep him from becoming angry with us.

Oh Crab!

Those crab humanoids, Craniforms as they call themselves, have a prophecy about us. Very strange indeed. The Sea told them long ago that we would save them from the Sahoolagins who enslave them. I'm not so sure about that but we promised to do our best. They also gave us this Rite of the Sea Mother. Very cool concept, able to breathe air and water and we can swim quickly—no issues in underwater combat.   The potion for it tasted and smelled like a bad oyster. That should have been our first clue. But I was so excited I missed it. The ability to move through the deep without magical expenditure seemed a simple choice, especially since Jer'xis seemed to think there were no negative side effects. After a very odd trip through sea-themed hallucinations, I woke up able to breathe water. Also, I was a little slimy and had a light-up antenna like an angler fish. Very cool. Stilga has little face tendrils and Algar has camouflage, not sure what Kalibek gained yet. Sadly it was not all sunshine and rainbows. We need salt water to live to a degree now. We figured that out when we all started to dry out like a fish on the rocks a few hours into our sail. Very not cool. While useful for now, we need to find a way to reverse at least some of the more negative side effects of our fishy evolution.   The craniform kids were easily amused with a little druid craft, I figured it was a cool way to leave our memory with them. They gave up a lot of their toys (very valuable gemstones!!!!) to us easily enough. Not a direct trade, but some little bits to entertain them.   Kzanto, one of the Craniforms, led us to a trash chute to get into the Sahuagin city Tzar'grandula. The anenenome? Anenome? Spelling? inside was huge. It paralyzed Algar but we were able to keep moving and Stilga had a potion to fix him. I need to remember to prepare my restoration spell daily. Trying to foresee the kind of trouble we are going to get into is hard. Especially when I cause a good deal of it. I don't think I've ever cycled through so many spells in one week before. Nani would be laughing at me about my whining about being underprepared. Me. Underprepared. "Probably the universe humbling you, Ellie!" Ugh. I could do with a little less of the universe butting its nose in right now.     I had hoped my shark form would be bigger. I'll keep pushing at the magic. I was not so large as I thought I would be even with the difficulty telling in form. Something to continue working on. The shark form didn't really help as camouflage and only two of them really could hide under my fins. The "Beast" knew we were there and attacked. We took care of it quick enough. Now to enter "the Tooth".

Catching up with TSA

Lunadris said this is supposed to help me keep my thoughts organized. Well, might as well give it ago. ALOT has happened. While sailing towards the shipping lanes we encountered a DRAGON TURTLE. At first, he seemed pretty suspicious, but it worked out in the end. We got some new items, a map, a new kind of friend ( I'm not sure what Skahomin's deal is) and some new crew. 2 from a shipwreck and 4 from Stilga's attempts at flirting. I think that's what that was. Stilga is a little weird, her magic is something like I've never heard of before. That's good though. New experiences are already helping. I can feel my magic growing stronger. When I reach out nature is listening more than ever before. But back on point, we stopped in a port town called Brocado. There we did some shopping, I hung out at the tavern with Kalibek and Algar, and then we got some new crew. Lunadris got a spell that lets him recognize the enchantment on items, so I found out what was up with those beans. Apparently, they are VERY NOT GOOD and they could cause a lot of trouble. I tied them up tight and put them in the bottom of my pack for safe keeping. Stilga gave me back the cutlass I found, she prefers two-handed weapons I guess. So it works out. OH! Learned more about Kalibek (the crossbow guy?), he was enslaved and treated horribly. We will be sinking that ship if we ever encounter it. Fuck those guys.   From Brocado we sailed south heading for Crocodile Isle. It was storied to have gems just on the shoreline. It ended up being a MONTH of sailing. Kalibek and I entertained the crew to keep up morale because that was a long sail. Part way there we got hit by a really big storm, one my wind spells couldn't get us out of. Santori nearly went overboard! We were able to save him, but we were attacked by Marrow. They dragged Tilly overboard, ultimately to her death. Lunadris wanted to go after her. It's good to know the Captain has a good heart, but the sea will take who she may.   Eventually, we reached the island, finding our Dragon Turtle friend (?) and the Zephyr. The Zephyr was ransacked. We went ashore (Me, Stilga, Algar, Lunadris, and Kalibek) to find the crew. We followed their trail through the jungle after finding obsidian, onyx, and peridot on the beach. It was just loose. The air is nasty. Sulphuric. It burns my nose and eyes. It doesn't feel like I will ever adjust to it.   While we were trekking through the jungle, I picked some flowers while Algar and Stilga tracked. The plant life was so dense. We got attacked by a spider that was hiding as a flower. Super cool. Super rude of it. Definitely going to try to remember that thing. ALSO we found out that the parrots on this island can mimic spoken arcane magics. Which was useful and harmful. I want one of those birds to come back with us. Kalibek scolded me for picking the flowers. They could have so many medical or potion benefits, but that didn't seem to sway him. So I will stop picking flowers while we walk. ESPECIALLY because I realized the plants on this island are ALIVE alive. Like, can talk to me if I will my energy that way. The grass and trees were really helpful. Some of the grass wanted to travel so I cut out a hunk and put it in my conch as a little pot. Never doing that while listening to the plants again. Very traumatizing. It screamed the whole time and made me cry. I think my crewmates think I'm a little odd, but that's okay. The grass wants to be called Grass.   After we slept, Algar and Stilga led the way and we snuck past a mesa with some kind of nesting beast on it and began climbing the volcanic caldera. When we reached the top the view was incredible. We could see for miles. It also revealed two paths forwards, continuing to follow the crew of the Zephyr or following signs of native or long-term resident life. A vote decided we follow the Zephyr crew. We met a Volcano Giant named, Uder Karbon, on that path. They keep their souls outside of their bodies in their shadows. Very strange indeed. I redirected Lunadris because he seemed to struggle with the concept. Glad I did because Uder ended up saving our butts when a lava creature, a pet of the Efreeti that banished him here, attacked us. It almost killed Lunadris for the change in his pack. Tossing it like he had contraband or something.   The group (in general) never seems as entertained by my animal forms as Nani or the village people were. Something to consider. I need them to like me (or at least tolerate me.) My natural senses have grown more in the past month than in the year preceding it. They, and the places we are going, are helping me grow.   I also made note of something Uder said. There is a planar rift to the Plane of Fire under this volcano. Lunadris came through one from the Plane of Water. Is something happening? Why are the planes colliding so much right now?   Back on point we found the bodies of some sailors assumedly from the Zephyr, dead around 1-2 weeks, on the beach by the lake in the valley between two craters. Then we were attacked by trolls. Thankfully Algar knew what to do and we were able to burn them with fire. It was a close fight though, if Kalibek hadn't given us a break by forcing them out I don't think we would have survived. I am curious about the Crab People that just climbed out of the lake. There are a lot of them and we are injured. Hopefully, they are friendly and grateful we killed the Trolls.   Lunadris has a spell that will let him speak to anyone, anywhere. I've been too nervous to ask so far. I think I would rather not know. Not until I can do something about it. Going with these people was the right call. I also ended up sending a messenger home. They replied that all was well, but I can't help worrying.

Friends, Flowers, Fire, and Fraud!

These last few days have been a whirlwind! While fishing I saw a ship under attack by some nasty sahuagins. I climbed up to help. The people on the ship are a little rough around the edges but seem friendly enough (mostly. Kalibek kept pointing an empty crossbow at me. Maybe it's a northerner tradition?). For some reason, they are sailing with a child on board. Oh! There are some wondrous-looking people on board their boat too! I've never met anyone like them. Stilga is nice. Quiet and a little violent too. She let me braid her pretty neat hair. There's also Lunadris, he's the ship captain and he's from another plane of existence. Sometimes he asks funny questions. Algar is friendly. He seems like the strong and stern type. He keeps an eye on everyone I've noticed. Kalibek, the guy with the crossbow, is a magical musician of some kind. I helped them get to an island to find some water and food so they can sail on. I was hopeful that if I could prove myself useful they might let me come with them when they travel on. I'll never learn anything more stuck on these islands. I climbed up the edge like a big ole banana spider! Their faces were so funny. As Algar and Stilga started hacking through the jungle, Kalibek started talking about things that weren't there. It was a little weird. He claimed he hadn't been drinking sea water but I don't know. I tried the spell that Nani taught me for spider bites, but it didn't work so it wasn't that either. Lunadris and I went back to the cliff to get the water barrels (I turned into a spider and got to scare the crew ha!) We spotted a beach and found an easier way to get the barrels back to the shore. We got attacked by snake people. SNAKE. PEOPLE. I tried to talk to them, and so did Lunadris. It didn't seem to help much. They still tried to kill everyone. They were loaded! There were a bunch of gems and potions on them. I even got a bag of beans. I thought they would be useful for supper, but they are weird so I don't want to eat them until we know what they are. Then after the snake people, the ship got hit by kou'toua? This group seems pretty competent if a little chaotic because they handled it pretty quickly. In the morning we got back to the water quest. We found a stream to follow but we had to detour it because it was covered in yellow musk creepers. Freaky. Detouring didn't help though, we had to fight some Musk Creeper Zombies. Kalibek accidentally set the forest on fire during the fight. It was really bad. We weren't able to put it out, but with some fancy water magic from Lunadris, we were able to stop it from spreading. Once we finally had water, I turned into an ape to help move the barrels and found some coconuts to eat. I found BANANAS (insert victorious ape sounds). Then I was able to help hunt as a shark. Take that. It worked! After the group seemed a little confused about why they shouldn't try to steal from the snake people. Apparently their boat isn't theirs and they have to get it remodeled so no one takes it. That will cost money. More money than normal jobs can provide. One of the crew suggested that piracy was an option. I preferred that than attacking people in their homes. Plus, like Jim always says, it doesn't matter if it's stolen on the sea. They have insurance which takes gold from the rich. I had to explain insurance, everyone seemed confused. But ultimately, we decided to try our luck in the shipping lanes, see if there is anyone to "relieve" of their cargo. This is good. Finally some momentum. I'll have to send a messenger soon though, make sure they don't think I got eaten.
