SHARE'n is care'n

Rickety, as we learned his name was, boarded our ship to begin inspecting it. We were unsure what he was doing and we confronted him, he seemed to imply that we should know what he was doing and that by being at the island. He informed us he can help reship our ship, reline the ship. We agreed for him to so and he told us it would be 6000gp! We figured that was high but we would have to pay it. We got the Sudden Delight into the dry dock and determined the amount of gold to pay our crew. With 20 crew (3 of them being officers) and my 4 companions and I. Then being officers and myself being a captain. We have a total of 20+1.5+2+2= 29.5 shares. I offered my double'd share to start a ship fund for our group. Out of the 3370 gold we had on hand, there will be more to give out when we figure out the physical loot. We ended up making camp on the shoreline to allow the group to use the salt water to sleep. We split up to check the town, which was described as a truck stop waystation college campus? Torrielle and I went to buy components and materials for our spellcasting. Stilga gave me 150gp to allow me to transfer Haste to my spell book. It will take time to do so. Stilga found a cleric who appeared to have been passing through. He said he would be able to help us. He was able to cast remove curse on Kalibek which took away his slimey skin. Joran will be able to remove the curses for 90g each day. We discussed our spellcasting abilities but the group is not as effective. they naturally have magics but can't learn new things whenever they find a scroll or Spellbook.

Two Birds, One Stone

With all of our loot divided amongst the group (Stilga got the Amulet of Skoneskin and +2 Breastplate. Algar got the Ring of Greater Protection. Torrielle got the Water Ele summoning gem and Ring of Spell Storing. Kalibek got the Wand of Web. I got the King's Trident), we were able to rest up on the ship. All of my companions flooded the longboat and slept in it due to their fishy ritual. I attuned to the king's trident which gives me some great benefits. Why has no one told me how gorgeous I look? We made it back to Crocodile Isle, but on the way, we talked to Captain Brand. She explained that her crew were at Crocodile Isle to reap the treasures and gems of the island but were overrun by Sahuagin and were forced inland. She and her crew were captured and taken to the Sahuagin city. She was unable to help her crew as they were taken 1 by 1 and she never saw them. We can take her back to her ship, but there is no real crew to sail it. We can try to get her back to port. We have enough money now to alter the lines of the ship! We will need to get back to a port to do it, maybe Brocado. Either way, we went ashore to the Crannaform to see if they have any way to fix the groups Fishy Issues... unfortunately, there was nothing they could do. They only know how the ritual works, not how to remove it. We could find someone at a temple or on another island, but they won't be able to do anything for them. Guess they will have to keep looking that way. We made our way back down to the ship, but Torrielle and Stilga went off to find a Magic Repeating Parrot. They clamored around the forest making a small cage and using berries and nuts to attract one. They ended up attracting a Giant Sloth that was chill and friendly. Torrielle talked to it with magic. Eventually it went away and a parrot came out. they used the food to lure two of them to the coast. The birds were nervous of the water and one flew away. Torrielle and Stilga were able to get the bird on the ship. I confirmed that the bird is a magic repeater with Mage Armor. I contacted Skuhonem with Sending and he showed up a few minutes later, he was ready. We offered him the +1 Flail, Warhammer, +2 Longbow, 7 Fiery Agets, the 110 small pearls and carved idols as tribute. He seemed please so he took it and told us he would be in touch soon.   We decided we need to figure out where to get water for our trip back to Brocado...

BIRD is the Healing word

Unable to get water from Crocodile Isle, we set out to a nearby island a few days travel. Along the way, I was able to really enjoy the view (of myself of course). We came across a massive oak tree in the middle of the ocean. We went further to investigate the tree but it seemed like some sort of wild magic surge. The crew didn't want to take any of the fruit that was on the tree, even despite my obviously correct suggestion. I may need to be a bit more forward with my subordinates. We left the tree and sailed onward eventually coming to the small island on the map. While small by Crocodile Isle size, it offered us a great place to shore and find water. We were able to fill out barrels with water and once again set out, this time, Kuresh set a course for a near-ish port that may be able to redraw the lines of the ship. We made out way. While I was once again enjoying the view to myself... am I denying others my splendor?   Torrielle went about trying to train her magic repeating parrot. In order to due so, she need Kalibek to cast his healing spells but he wanted to save his magic energies for people actually hurt. So Torrielle convinced Stilga and Algar to spar. The two knocked each other around for a little bit and Kalibek healed them using Healing Word. It didn't seem to get the Parrot to repeat the spell at first but eventually it did repeat the healing word. It hasn't since done so again.   We traveled for about 7 days before coming to a good sized jungle island with some docks. There was a blue flag and a red and yellow checkered flag. As we sailed closer, a group gathered at the docks and a small longboat sailed over to us. A short man came aboard our ship to have a look around...

We aren't paciFISHt

The crew continues their battle in the depths of the throne room of the Sahugin king. We have dispatched the priestess and angered the king. Algar, Stilga, and Kalibek are all in very bad shape. We may need an exit strategy. We pushed on! With some key blows form Stilga and Algar, we wore the massive king down. Algar took a nasty blow that would have dropped anyone but he keep fighting. Stilga was able to get in and sever his massive head. We cleaned up the remaining guard and took a well deserved rest. While the group rested their bodies and wounds, Torrielle and I (relatively unhurt) searched the two remaining rooms. We found a sleeping area with tons of treasure and the other room held a comatose Captain Brand!! We thought she was dead back up by the trolls. She was within a Jellyfish that held air. We took a bit of time to investigate the jellyfish but eventually we cut her free. We were unable to wake her up but we decided it best to get out of danger. After looting the throne room, we made our way back up and encountered Gaammaa, the water elemental lady from the Prism of Power of the elemental plane of water. She seemed pleased that we dispatched the king and his consort. "You have done a great service for the Prism of Power" told us. We asked her if she could help us out of the Tooth and Sahuagin city. She said she would but Torrielle was picking up real bad vibes. I warned her no funny business, which almost turned her against us but Kalibek was able to smooth things over. She led us out of the Tooth using air to turbulate the water around her, covering us in her wake. We escaped to the coral garden tunnel we made our way in from. Gaammaa bid us farewell and immediately plane shifted back to the elemental plane of water!! She knew how to do it! Before I could even ask she was gone. I will need to find some other way to find my companions. We made out way out of the city through the tunnel, avoided the anemone, and got back to our ship. We set sail back to Crocodile Isle while we had the Doc check Captain Brand. Turns out she was poisoned and should recover with a bit of rest now that she is out of the water. I began the long work to identify the sevearl magic items. As I was going through them, I got to the staff which was definately a staff devoted to the Sahuagin god. During my casting of Identify, the staff reached out to me and interrupted me with a resounding, "NO". I am still not sure what happened, but I was unable to complete the spell. There is something very off with that staff and we should be careful. I laid out all the magical items we have and offered to the crew what we have. We will need tribute for Skuhonem but the rest should be split up for our adventuring needs.

TOOTH aches

Gil scouted the room which had no one in it. We searched, or as Stilga would say "tossed" the room. We found some small things but nothing to helpful so we moved on. At the next door we found the same thing, except there was a fancy greataxe in the room. Stilga immediately grabbed it and noticed it said, "Hogs Bane" on the shaft. Very likely magical. We scoped out the next room but it had a bunch of sleeping sahuagin! We closed the door and whispered our plan. Do we kill them preemptively while they sleep or should be just leave them be. The group debated the moral and ethical dilemmas of killing them. Do the land dwellers not do the same to scourge of the land? Either way, we decided to not kill them and leave them be. we continued quietly to search the next two rooms. We never even noticed that the door reopened as the sleeping, well not so sleeping, sahuagin attacked! Kalibek and I took a nasty surprise as they suck their spears into us. Between the shock, Algar and Petruska were able to get some hits in and help. Torrielle summoned two giant octopus that grappled and restrained two of the sahuagin which greatly helped. It took us a bit to kill them all but we did it. Bleeding, bruised, and broken, we succeeded. We finished looting the floor and hid the bodies in the same room as before. With our energies and bodies depleted, we bunkered down into the sleeping sahuagin room to rest. Gil remained an ever-vigilant guard. No one came by or checked the rooms which allowed us to lick our wounds and recover. With renewed vigor, we regrouped and formed up to head down the last tunnel. We peeked at the bottom to find two large sahuagin standing guard. They hadn't seemed to notice us so we used Message to communicate our plan. Torrielle will use a spell to blast them and we follow the charge in! With us all ready to go, Torrielle used Ice Storm to batter the large sahuagins as we raced in! The two large sahuagin turned to greet us and we found that they not only were much larger and stronger than the previous sahuagin, these large warriors had four arms!!

BLOOD in water

We are still in the Sahuagin city of Zara'Grandula. We have made our way into the Tooth, the spire in the center of the city where we were told we might find the last bit of the crew from the Zephyr, the missing Crannaform, and stop the evil Sahuagin leader. My crew is a little weird and rambunctious but I like it. They underwent a ritual from the Crannaform (crab people) to be able to breath and swim underwater. It appears as if they took on aspects of denizens of the deep. Torrielle has some angler aspects, Algar has some bio-camo aspects, Kalibek has some eel like aspects, and Stilga has some anemone aspects. They are able to speak the language of the Crannaform and the sahuagin, I'm jealous, and have learned how to move through the water with great speed. They seem perturbed by the need for salt water though. they claim that they dry out if on land for too long. My scales protect me from such inefficiencies but perhaps it will help them understand my longing to stay hydrated. After a short rest, we used my arcane eye to peer below to the next level. I was able to preview the lower level and saw a good number of Sahuagin beating up a Crannaform. We jumped right into action to help it. Algar and Stilga led the charge with Kalibek and TorriEELle (as a giant eel) followed behind. Petruska and myself took the rear. We caught the buggers from behind but they were tough. It took us a bit to take them down. Algar and Stilga went to work protecting TorriEELle and Petruska while Kalibek and I aided from the back. These deep dwellers are not used to the light from the surface so my Silvery Barbs spell was very effective to thwart a few critical attacks from them. They were tenaciously tough. Each hit and kill caused blood to fill the room which only made them attack harder. Even with their onslaught, we were able to take them all out before collecting ourselves and checking on the lone Crannaform. We offered help to the Crannaform who thanked us. We asked it some questions about the layout of the level, they told us that this was the resting level of the Tooth and the Sahuagin rest here. Before heading back up, we told them to not open the gate, but the Crannaform immediately swam back up... hopefully they don't leave the gate open... This level looked much like the higher ones, center chamber with several doors. We figured we should take some time to check the rooms for possible loot as well as ensure there were no more enemies. I summoned Gil, my octopus familiar, who was a little reluctant but agreed to squeeze through to check out the other side. After a brief scout, Gil came back and told me that it was clear, he couldn't see anyone in there. With his 8 thumbs up, we quietly opened the door to see. . .

The full DEPTH of our situation

(Missed Session on 5/18/22) Leveled up to 7!!   After arriving into the Sahuagin city via secret trash tunnel, we have begun our ascent up The Tooth. It is sooo nice to be swimming again. The large spire gave us a great view of the underwater city. At the top was a small arena with two guards. We tried to split up and use Shark Torrielle to scout but she seemed swayed by their natural abilities to control sharks. We fanned out to attack them but they caught on to us. The battle was a little shaky with Algar taking many blows but dishing them out on kind. We were able to finish them off but Kalibek used a thunderclap, sending a shockwave of sound and air out! The sound was likely heard VERY FAR. We needed to act. Using the remaining time on my Enlarge spell on Algar, he was able to pry open a gate at the top of the spire. We made our way in to find several confusing shapes blocking sides of the room. There was a hole down but the map given to us indicated that this was the prison. We tried to figure out how to open the weird doors but even I couldn't figure it out. Algar and Stilga were able to force their way into the doors. In the first cell, we found a sea elf named Petruska! Wow was she pretty. She was trying to spy on the Sahuagin but was imprisoned. She told us she was actually a princess from Azureloom, a sea elf kingdom ruled by her father King Brennamere. We broke her free from her cell but struggled to get the manacles open. Kalibek conjured some thieves tools, but honestly, none of us know how to use them. Luckily Petruska knew how and was able to open her own manacles with the tools. We opened the next cell which was full of the Crabfolk! We helped them out and they were incredibly grateful. They waited till we could ensure the coast was clear before trying to get back to the garbage tunnel. The next cell contained something far less friendly though. There was something everyone else called a Depth Beholder? It had a massive eye with eye stalks, and claws. Luckily, it was appreciative of us freeing it and it left us be as it swam out of the gates. whew. The next cell had a Sea Giant! Her name was Jathar and she was being controlled by the Sahuagin. She was captured and had a magical necklace that controls her. With some arcana knowledge, I figured that we would need to find the control device and use it to free Jathar. Petruska was able to use the tools to pop the collar off Jathar! We asked the sea giant to help our crab friends to get to the garbage tunnel and she said she would. Before she left, she warned us of the High Priestess.   We composed ourselves in the safety of the prison room to rest shortly and recover our magics and strength...

A volcano giant's enLIGHTenment

This island is awful. We decided to head down the caldera to follow the crew of the Zephyr. As we made our way lower, our path was blocked by a massive 18ft tall humanoid. Others called it a giant, it called itself Uder Conbar. Uder is a volcano giant who was from the elemental plane of fire (the awful opposite to my home plane). He was not aggressive and explained that he was tricked to remain here by the Duke who is an Efreeti. I explained that Efreeti are basically fire genies who, while tricksters, are incredibly malicious in their twisting of others' desires. Either way, Uder had no ill will for us and allowed us to cross... as long as we didn't step on his shadow. The big lug thinks that their soul casts the shadow and is part of it. Does he not know anything about how light works!? Torrielle pushed me along before I could explain it to him. Before we could make it to the bottom of the ridge, the ground gave way beneath us as a flaming Bullette attacked! It seemed to want some metal from us, and by us, me! The damn thing nearly killed me if it had not been for Kalibek's inspiring words. In the end, Uder came to help and the thing fled back to the caverns below the volcano. Hopefully we do not need to deal with it again. We made it to the tree top of the caldera when a landslide rushed us down. We all came out relatively unscathed but learned some new tricks (LEVEL 6 BABY!!) We eventually made it to the small pond and found an even worse smell. It turned out to be the bodies of 4 pirates, one of them identified as Captain Alyssa Brand. Before we could do more investigating, we were attacked by two trolls! Algar wanred us to use fire to defeat them so Torrielle cast her flaming sword. I tried my best to help but the rest of my crew were in perfect sync. Using Kalibek's magicwhispers to drive 1 of the trolls away, the crew easily dispatched one of the trolls and took down the 2nd when it returned. We were going to check out the bodies and pond when several dozen crab like humanoids rose out of the pond and surrounded us...

The smell left us GRASSping for air

By the depths, this island smells. The stenches could almost make me gag. At least it is humid and warm. We continued further into the island which took some time to cut through. While we progressed, Torrielle was picking wild flowers when one jumped her! or at least something looking like a leaf attacked. The large bug vibed hard and resonated with us which hurt. We were able to kill it but the trees seemed to echo our arcane magic vocals. When I and Kalibek casted magics with verbal components, the bright plumed birds seemed to echo them around. It hurt Algar but when Kalibek healed, it actually help! We continued on our way but with the sun setting, we needed a clearing to camp. Torrielle used a spell, her naturally magics seemed to be immune to the bright birds, to speak with the plants. The grass and trees led her to a clearing where we were able to make camp. She cut out some grass to put in her conch shell. I dont know what was going on but she was crying while she did it? Might need to check in with her. We talked amongst ourselves before setting watch. Kalibek dropped a hint that he still spoke with Fergus, his hallucinations. We confirmed that he is still seeing them. I informed the crew of my findings with Identify on the black powderbag. We only expressed our concern for Kalibek and he seemed to get defensive. The night went by uneventful (as we know it but Stilga's watch was a buzzing good time). We continued on as the road traveled further up the hills. We made our way between two calderas to see a green valley below with a bright blue lake. We traveled along the ridge and found tracks of the crew heading further down into the valley but we also notice tracks, bare foot, that lead up a small path. There seems to be a few ways we can go. Which way leads to the crew of the Zephyr and which ways leads to more treasure? Maybe we can find both in the same path? We will have to go with the ... path...

WEATHERING the Storm

STORM! Santori is dangling from a rope over the side of the ship. We jumped right into action. Both Torrielle and Stilga went to work to pull Santori back onto the ship's deck. The lurching and movement of the ship made it hard for me to focus on my spells. I tried to web up the broken forcebar (front pole and sail). While we worked to reclaim the crew member and ship, we were attacked by some Snake-like fishfolk (Marrow- Fish folk with snake like features). They tried to harpoon us and drag us off the ship! The rest of the crew fought hard but Tilly was speared and dragged over board. We tried to stop them but there wasn't anything we could do to get her back. The Marrow dragged he down deep and fast... We rode out the remainder of the storm in a somber tone. It was hard to lose our first crew member. Tilly will be missed. After a few hours, the storm slowly passed. We assessed the damages, and made our way to Crocadile Isle. After nearly a month of travel, we have found our target. We have come up to a long crocodile shaped island. I contacted Skahonen with Sending to asking if he is here. All I got was EAST. Made our way around the island to the east side to find the Zephyr and Skahonen. The Zephyr appeared fully abandoned. Skahonen informed us that it was like that when he got here and that most things have fled from him. He wants gems, potions, or any precious metals form the island. We investigated the Zephyr. We found some ore but nothing real else in the hold of the ship for goods. We found no real treasure but found a journal from Captain Brand. It informed us that they went ashore to the island. In the journal, it does warn about not having good luck finding fresh water or dealing with the fumes. We decided to take Algar, Stilga, Kalibek, and Torrielle with me on the island while Kuresh gets the crew to repair the Zephyr, pull the ore from the hold, and be prepared for any fights. If they are in any danger, they should take the ship. I can reach out with Magic to call them back.   We stepped off the long boat to a smelly sulfuric beach...

What a piece of JUNK

Stilga, Torrielle and I left the tavern to see what the Salvage shop had. The shop was made out of an old beached ship with the shop built right into the hull. We found a very cluttered, yet organized shop. the owner, Rudis, is... something. He seems to have swallowed a fish bone or something that he keeps trying to hack up. I can suggest a good jellyfish remedy later... He was able to shuck a few clams to find me a pearl for identifying magics, he also had a few neat things. There was this Idol of a Leviathan!! It was small but looked amazing. He sold it to me for only 4gp! We ended up buying some healing potions, the idol, the pearl, and two conch shells. I was able to determine that the idol and one of the conches was magical. We made our way back to the tavern and found a well on his way Kalibek. I idnetified the blackpowder bag to determine it was cursed but should be safe now. We will need to find a way to remove that from Kalibek, and tbh, myself... I identified the saber, at +1 magic weapon, the idol (which summons an illusion of a massive Leviathan 1/day), the conch (lets you talk to fish or command fish? not to sure), and our necklace (which lets the wearer breath water, air, or gases and give adv on saves for poisons). All and all, got some good things. We played some drinking games, which I really didn't understand. They asked me an emberrasing question, "Have you ever kissed a fish?" I don't know why it was embaressing. I have kissed a fish but I did clarify with them, I have kissed a fish but I have never passionately kissed a fish. It was a weird exchange. Stilga asked Kalibel about his ears... Kalibek was very slow to respond but ended up telling us that he was initially a slave on a ship and that his previous owner did that to his ears. He didnt have a name or anything. He jumped ship to end it, but someone found him and taught him bardic ways. He took the name Kalibek and began roaming the seas. The ship had a Hydra flag... That's a pretty hardcore origin story... We tried to lighten the mood and went to go get our provisions. Our crew was not in sea sailing shape so we ended up extending shore leave to the next morning. We loaded up the provisions and Kuresh confirmed that we had enough, more than enough grain, but enough. Made our last prep and long rested. Woke up and Cinturi, Alberto, Gianii, and Theodoro (the brothers from Stilga's encounter) all joined the ship. We made sail that morning and spent a good week or so sailing towards Crocodile Isle. I tried to send a magical Sending to Cass... err Cascade as she prefers. I told her I was ok, i am on the material plane, and asking if they were ok. No response. Not sure if she is here on the material plane, if she is dead, or if the spell failed to get to her on the water plane. Either way, I tried and can try to send it to others. The crewmates know that I can send messages as well. As we sailed, a massive storm rolled in, we battened down and prepared for the worst. The storm rolled the ship and we heard a snap as one of the cross beams to the sail broke. Cinturi tried to grab a line to stop it and was flung out over the side of the ship!!! Still holding on, it is a race to save him!!

Being a good BROcado

With the Dragon turtle behind us, we made our way south. We wont be able to make it to Crocodile Island without stopping for food. We found a small port on the map and sailed for the better portion of the morning before making it into port. We paid 15gp to dock at the Port City of Brocado. We paid the crew and allowed them a few hours of shore leave while we get stocks for the ship. Algar and Torrielle went to the bar and Kalibek followed. He has a very dark past that he isn't telling us. Stilga and I realized that we never had to be the ones on the ship that buys food. We did our best and bought 1 pig, 7 chickens, 150lbs of oats, 2lbs of salt, 20lbs of meat. 5 days of hard tack for every crew member. We met back up at the bar and had a good drinking time. Stilga went over to a guy and tried to hit on him. We were giving her advice via message. We wing-personed the best we could but Stilga's natural charm and directness was alarming to the guy. She was able to get him and his 3 brothers to potentially join the ship. We ended the talks with the group deciding to check out the salvage shop and try to get more crew members....

Working for the SHELLfish Turtle

Missed my last Journal entry. After burning down half the island, we got our water and made our way out to sea. The crew sailed to find some shipping lanes or vessels to "pirate". While out on the ocean, there was a large school of Tuna close to the surface which was SUPER weird. Before we had time to ponder the phenomenon, a massive jaw snapped up a dozen tuna. We prepared for the worst when we saw what looked like a gargantuan turtle. It appeared to be a Dragon Turtle. It could easily munch the ship in one or two bites. We were able to parlay with the creature, using Kalibek's silver tongue. The creature freaked out some of our crew and we did our best to be brave. The Dragon, not turtle as it corrected us, would eat us but we agreed to help it. We were taken by the great beast, Skahonen (Ska-Hoan-en) to a derelict ship listing in the water. we boarded the ship, The Discovery, to find any treasure or supplies. We found two of the crew being tortured by Sahuagin. After some sick moves by Algar and some insane critical blows by Stilga, they were put down. We scoured the ship for supplies and loot but didn't find mind much in the hold. After searching the upper rooms, we found a bit of things: First we found a crude map for a place called Crocodile Island, a lock box with 75pp, 2 large diamonds, a magical necklace, and 3 potions. Torrielle also found a magical saber (longsword) in the captain's room. We talked to the potential 2 new crewmembers, Sylros the half-elf and Haylen the human. Both were sailors and would work for board and transport. They informed us that The Discovery was caught up in a nasty storm and some of the crew reported seeing a Kraken in the water that causes a massive wave. Could have just been a rogue wave too. The captain had met with an old friend, Captain Alyssa Brand of the Zephyr. That is how the crew knew to check out Croc island. After the Storm, the crew were trying to limp back to port but were attacked. These two were the only two to survive. We gave Skahonen the large diamonds which he agreed was enough (letting us keep the platinum and other finds). He was agreeable to work with us again to get more things. He will meet us at Croc island and help us stay in touch. He and I sort of bonded over the land dwellers' inefficiency in the water and I told him that we will have them tell stories of the great dragon of the sea. We started setting sail south and discussed payment options. To change the lines of the ship, we will need 1000-2000 gold. This means we will need to hold off on that immediately. We should find a small port, pay the crew, get other crew members, and figure out what we exactly want to do...

BURNING desire for Insurance Fraud

ZOMBIES!! Or fungus plant controlled undead at least. We had to fight them back. It may have been a mistake giving Kalibek the Black Powder Bag back... He used it nearly immediately. It helped hurt the plombie...fombies... whatever but it also caught the jungle on fire! We finished off the undead and tried to stop the fire. We were able to get some water form the stream using Shape Water to make ice to through on the fire but the fire was growing too fast on the other side. The fire was growing up the hill. Torrielle found the perfect sinkhole like well of water. We had to fight through the flames to get to it. Damn, fire grows fast. it engulfed a lot of the area and we had to do everything to cut it off. We used the water from the sinkhole and PLENTY of spells to stop the fire. After a short rest, we filled the barrels and made our way back to the beach. With the water aboard the ship, we went about getting some food stores before we decided what to do next. Kuresh informed me that in order to head back, we will need to change the lines (style and look) of the ship or people will know the Sudden Delight was back and its owners would come after it. In order to do that, we will need a good chunk of money and a less reputable place to do it. We all started to talk to figure out what the best way to come up with the money would be... Lunadris wanted to find out if the Snake people had treasures and gems like the two we defended Algar and Kalibek from. The group was less willing to opening attack them and steal from them. (See Stream from 3/9/22 ranting of lunatics) Lunadris learned what insurance fraud was and that we and others in the region can make some big bucks committing it. If all else fails, we can turn to piracy. But Torrielle is insistant that we limit it to piracy only on the sea.

These guys are GROWING on me

After killing the two snake men that attacked, we heard sounds of combat back out on the ship. The crew made our way back to the ship. Damn Kuo-Toa have attacked the ship and our--- MY crew! We were easily able to dispatch them. Torrielle is really coming in clutch on helping us out. The ship crew set a watch while we all went back to sure to secure the beach head. We had a great discussion on how to use hand signals to determine who lives and dies as well as how to boost morale. Need to work on "thumbs up". We got a solid long rest undisturbed. Unfortunately we forgot to deal with the bodies from the day before. This meant having a discussion on how to remove the bodies. It was a real toss up between: hacking them up, burning them, burying them, or throwing them in the ocean with some rocks stuff into them. We had some of the crew secure the beach camp while we scouted out for water. We followed the small stream into the island having to cut our way through. It was a rough go having Algar and Stilga slashing a way. We made good progress till Torielle stopped us. There were some weird mind bulbing plants that would "musk" us and turn us into zombies of sorts. We debated whether to deal with them or to go around. The group decided it best to ignore the most direct route and cut an alternative. We continued on our way when we heard noises from the trees and we saw humanoids with yellow flowered plants growing out of them! We may need to fight either way...

Don't Drink Salt Water

The island is warm and humid which is nice but damn are these trees dense. We took so long to make barely any head way. Kallibek is being very weird. He says he is seeing a floating talking fish and I am not sure if he is referring to me. We made it to a small clearing and our concern for Kallibek has grown. He is becoming increasedly more interested in burning down the entire jungle and is now talking to a person named Fergus that does not exist. We took his black powder bag from him to prevent any issues. Torrielle, our new druid companion and I went back to the coast to send a message to Ana, our ship's surgeon, to see if she could help. Unfortunately, she doesnt have anything that would likely help. We got the crew to row the large water barrels over to the cliffside and with Torrielle's help (she turned into a massive spider!!) we got them all to the top of the cliff. She climbed a tree to view the island and saw a bay to the east. I informed Kuresh, our quartermaster, that he should bring the ship around to the Bay and we will meet him there. I went back to the group to get everyone to help bringing the barrels along the coast to the shore. It took a bit but we made the journey with the barrels before evening. Kallibek is now seeing a clown of some sort juggling or mocking him. We are worried as he is growing increasedly more insane. Algar thinks it might be best to knock him out but I don't want to hurt him. We made a small camp on the beach with the barrels and found some small trickling streams that may be prospect for water. Silly that the folks of this plane have soooo much salt water but cannot drink it. I began my ritual to bring back Gill but it was disturbed when Algar was attacked at the tree-line by some snake headed people. Torrielle and I tried to talk to them to see if they would be willing to pursue a peaceful alternative to killing. They called us unclean and unworthy. They seemed fanatical, almost like home. We fought well as a crew and were able to dispatch the two snake-men. I was going to send a message to the crew aboard the ship when we heard more fighting coming from it. I leapt into the water immediately!! I hope I am not too late...

Black Sails set Sail

After defeating Lavina Wisp, we now have a fully restored ship and can sail back to Freebooters Bay. We helped the remaining crew that survived the island aboard who now act as if Lunadris is Captain. The plan was to set sail to Freebooters Bay but it appears we are MUCH farther off course than we had known and are no longer on the known maps of Avenaria. We took inventory of our supplies and have little water and some food. We will need to find somewhere to make landfall to get water. The captain's quarters had charts and maps that detailed, though in no great descriptions, a few nearby islands. With only about 3 days supplies, we charted a course for a potential island with water that was about a day and half away. As night drew upon us, we flipped a coin to decide whether we push on through the night or if we anchor and sleep. Heads, we head on. Kalibek and Lunadris took watch and near the late night/early morning, we saw some shapes in the water. Then Sahuagin boarded the ship! Lunadris was able to ring the alarm bell to awaken the crew. It was a rough fight with Crimson, Jack, and Beaver all going down. It was looking rough, but a stranger from the sea came aboard. She healed our crew (Crimson and Jack) as well as helped up dispatch the Sahuagin. At some point, a horrendous looking sea woman was at the aftcastle but all she did was watch before jumping back into the sea. We finished off the remaining Sahuagin before we turned to see the stranger...
