First Peoples

The following is an excerpt from History of the World by the Secret College:

The First Peoples are simply that - the first peoples that we know of. These were the peoples who lived on the backs of Lion Turtles. As far as we can tell, all peoples who lived on Lion Turtles were of one or extremely similar ethnic background. Thus, we have designated them as a single people group.
Of course, every nation of people today can trace their origins back to these "First Peoples." What cannot be traced however is when exactly this break-off of ethnicities began to occur for each nation. This may be for the better since there is no scientific evidence to suggest any one ethnicity today is greater than all the rest.
