Gnome

Gnomes are a race of diminutive humanoid than stand around 3 feet tall. What they lack in height they more than make up for in intelligence, excitability and ingenuity. They are great mechanics and inventors, renowned for their knowledge and eccentric natures.
Though gnomes love jokes of all kinds, particularly puns and pranks, they’re just as dedicated to the more serious tasks they undertake. Many gnomes are skilled engineers, alchemists, tinkers, and inventors. They’re willing to make mistakes and laugh at themselves in the process of perfecting what they do, taking bold (sometimes foolhardy) risks and dreaming large.
Gnomes once lived deep underground but were driven from their subterranean homes by the manastorm and the many creatures that were twisted and driven mad by its arcane torrents. In the centuries since the gnomes have made homes for themselves on the surface, often within the borders of other races territory, trading their inventions and skills for protection.
