Nightshade Forest

Geography

The Nightshade Forest is the largest forest in all of Avandra. It covers most of the north west part of Ebron, and the south eastern part of The Empire. The forest surrounds a lake in the center, and follows a river down to the ocean where it stops when it comes to a set of cliffs. Most of the land is riddled with small hills, as the roots of the trees have pushed the ground up out of the way. The start of the forest is not as littered with trees, and in fact is a nice place to walk and travel through if needed. However, when getting closer to the center of the forest, especially around some parts of the Ebron-Empire boarder, the trees become heavily dense and nigh impossible to walk through.

Fauna & Flora

The Nightshade Forest was originally just called the Ebron Forest, after the region that owned the forest. However, as the forest got older, and the trees started to grow higher and tighter together, the forest became too dark to sustain some of the previous flowers and various other plants. However, one plant that seemed to flourish once the forest became dark and dense was the infamous nightshade plant. After spreading out from the lake that the forest originally started growing in, people of Ebron started to call it the Nightshade Forest. Now, the forest is mostly comprised of the nightshade plant and various trees, vines, and wildflowers.

Natural Resources

Originally, when the forest was first discovered by the people of Ebron, it was used mostly for lumber. However, when the Dark Elves started to develop their homes around the forest, the lumber industry was driven from the forest. Now, the Nightshade is used mostly for the gathering of important alchemical ingredients, especially the nightshade plant. The Dark Elves are the ones that mostly use the Nightshade for any sort of building or hunting any more, as Ebron's government agreed that the forest was supposed to be home to the clans there, and so, allow the Dark Elves to govern the forest themselves. Closer to the very southern tip of Ebron, the river that flows from the Nightshade is used for electricity and fishing.
