Thousands of years ago, when the land was first starting to form, the god came together to create the plants, animals, and mankind. with specific instructions given to mankind on how to rule the land and how to take care of its inhabitants, the gods were sure their creatures would thrive. However, as mankind grew, they became more and more aware of the gods, and their powers to worship began to evolve. Some of the gods, seeing that mankind was worshiping others more than themselves, grew jealous and angry at this, and a war broke out among the gods in what would come to be known as the Chaos Era. And while the gods fought as well, it was mankind who suffered the most in the Chaos Era, almost completely being destroyed.   But when the fighting among the gods stopped, the Settlement was reached. Only certain gods were to be worshiped and believed in, for the ones that caused the fighting had betrayed the rest of the gods. However, no agreement could be reached between men. So, they agreed to divide the land into three parts: The Conclave Empire, Ebron, and Xolta.   The Conclave Empire, the largest part of the land, recognized all eight of the gods that were brought to the Settlement. Those that created the Empire also believed that those who chose not to follow one of the Eight and instead follow one of the 'betrayer gods' deserved punishment, either financially or punitively. Those who created the Empire feared that by following and praising the betrayer gods, another Chaos Era would come to be.   The second largest of the land divisions, Ebron, recognized only three of the gods brought by the Settlement. Those three were the same ones that the Empire embraced, however, the creators of Ebron believed that one of the betrayers gods was misunderstood. They wanted permission to also worship this god, but the Empire discouraged it. Ebron, after their creation, allowed for worship of this god. Because of this, Ebron was seen as a world full of dark and dangerous people and beings, worshiping evil and trying to bring about another Chaos Era.   And Xolta... Well, Xolta believed that mankind should have freedom to believe in what they wanted. After all, when the gods created mankind, they gave them the power to make decisions and the power of worship, so why couldn't it be used? Xolta did, however, believe that there was one god that was more powerful than others, and accepted only that god as their deity. Still, worship of others, even betrayer gods, met with no punishment.   For a while, the three divisions lived in peace, but as time passed, tension between the them grew again. As people started to fight in the streets over the true intention of the Settlement, political ties between the three divisions started to dwindle. Then, far in the South of the Empire, a darkness started to emerge from Ebron. This darkness left everything in its wake dead and cold. Now, there seems to be a stronger power at play than just the politics of the Settlement...
