The Sage's Sea

Some consider the Sage’s Sea to be the ocean in which all other planes float. Others consider it to be a plane unto itself. Whatever the Sage’s Sea is, it is indisputably the source of all worldly magics present on Avanar, and across the planes. All creatures have an innate spiritual connection to the Sea, but some creatures can harness their latent abilities better than others. No-one has ever been able to venture to the Sage’s Sea. Many have attempted, but its precise location in the multiverse has yet to be determined.
Some believe the Sea to be the birthplace of the gods. Some theorise that the gods created the Sea as a reservoir of their own magic, gifted unto mortal beings. Whatever the truth may be, it is an integral force of life that appears inseparable from Avanar.
