Zhūlong
The Eternal Sovereign
Once a mortal ruler who united the tribes of ancient Shang, Zhūlong is now a revered demigod, embodying the ideals of peace, wisdom, and balance. After rejecting the gods in favor of neutrality, he achieved enlightenment and merged with the Astral Sea upon his death, becoming a figure of immense power with dominion over space and time. As the founding father of Shangese civilization, Zhūlong is credited with the creation of key cultural practices, medicine, governance, and technology, laying the foundations for the mighty empire that thrives in his name.
Zhūlong’s teachings form the heart of The Way, a philosophy focused on living in harmony with the universe, cultivating inner peace, and undergoing spiritual transformation. His influence extends far beyond philosophy, with some of his followers developing Dunamancy, a school of magic that manipulates the very fabric of time and space through the mystical energy of dunamis. Though revered, Zhūlong’s divine nature remains distant, with only a select few capable of tapping into his true power. His followers often seek to emulate his wisdom, striving for balance in all things, and his influence is felt deeply in the spiritual and arcane practices of the Shangese people.
Appearance. Zhūlong is most often depicted as a majestic figure cloaked in robes of gold and red, with an ethereal aura that seems to bend the fabric of reality itself. His features are regal, with sharp eyes that seem to peer beyond time, and his presence exudes a profound serenity. When manifesting in visions or to his closest disciples, he appears as an ageless sage with golden skin and radiant white hair, surrounded by swirling cosmic patterns that represent his control over space and time.
