Vitrani

The Vitrani are a resilient ethnic group hailing from the Northeastern Sea of Riches. Their population spans from the fractured and ever-shifting River Nations along the Dravă River to the northern isolationist Arcane Commonwealth of Illandria beyond the mysterious Darkgrove. Whether it be the nonstop conflicts between the warring kingdoms, duchies, and city-states in the River Nations—all vying for control of the region's fertile floodplains, lucrative trade routes, and ancient fortresses—or the exploititive, autocratic rule of the Eight Exarchs of Illandria, the Vitrani see no shortage of strife. Hence, they are known for their adaptibility, stocisim, and deep cultural traditions forged in the flames of constant upheaval.   Vitrani have stout, muscular builds and hardy physiques shaped by their rugged homeland and labor-intensive way of life. Coloration is dependant on their area of origin. Southern Vitrani hailing from the River Nations have dusky skin, dark eyes, and thick jet-black hair. Northern Vitrani of Illandria have paler skin with more sunken facial features, gold, amber, or reddish-brown eyes, and jet-black, purplish-black, or burgundy red hair. Some speculate the unsual appearance of Northern Vitrani is a result of their close proximity to the Darkgrove or the arcana of their ruling mages. Regardless, baldness is rare among all Vitrani, and men often sport thick beards as a sign of strength and maturity. Women tend to wear their hair long and intricately braided, often adorned with beads or ribbons that signify family, status, or personal milestones.

Dialects vary significantly between the different kingdoms and duchies along the Dravă River, with some borrowing heavily from neighboring cultures due to centuries of conquest and migration.
