Cali School of the Tempest

Succession ownership by the male bloodline of the Matriarchy, currently led by the Queen's uncle Headmaster Rose. The national sect of the Delphinia Queendom, the CSoT exists as one of the numerous opportunities of the citizens of Delphinia have to rise above their station. While everyone is accepted and encouraged to join the school, not everyone qualifies to remain a student of the school. All available course other than the courses which focus on their Devi Art are optional, however despite this policy most classes remain full. The culture of Delphinia closely resembles NYC in that most citizens take advantage of every opportunity to learn, develop their Devi, and find business opportunities. The rewards being almost immediate as the royal matriarchy has put systems in place to network with powerful practitioners and new wealth, using the Rainbow Fellowship. The Rainbow Fellowship comes with a whole host of privileges that makes living in the Delphinia Queendom much easier. New applicants are put into Class 1 where they learn the beginnings of how to use their Devi to enhance their physical capabilities and slowly enhance their Devi manipulation to the extent of create small bursts of wind to move objects. After 6 months, applicants are tested and the first major vetting process begins. Those who pass are advanced to Class 2. Class 2 students, also referred to as official members of the school are taught more advanced applications of Devi manipulation and are given access to a wide array of classes ranging from human anatomy, geography, international cultural studies, economics, business, alchemy, metallurgy, and botany to core subjects similar to Earth's universities. Optional classes quickly come with their own tests which determine whether a student can continue studies in that particular field. In order to remain a student, optional classes can be failed but the next major vetting processes for Devi must be passed. Class 3 students, having been taught the Devi art and advanced forms of Devi manipulation are given an annual test to measure their development and all available optional classes. They're one step away from joining the Rainbow Fellowship and need to pass the next three annual tests in order to move onto Class 4. Students in this class are given full autonomy in their development and most students use this time to either travel, sponsored by the school or stick to the school by becoming assistants or going on research trips.
60% of the students who enter the school, advance to Class 2 and 80% move onto Class 3. However only 40% of Class 3 students move onto Class 4. The full autonomy not only favors those with contacts in the Rainbow Fellowship who can help and train Class 3 students, but also those who join unofficial cliques usually with humiliating entry requirements. Students without any outstanding talent in Devi or wind based Devi arts and students that aren't familiar enough with their peers or elders have to fight an uphill battle to pass all three annual exams. The school also doesn't get involved in conflicts between students.
  • One of the two schools located in the Delphinia Queendom in addition to Silva's Garden. Because Devi proficiency is one of the many ways to succeed in such a commercial country full of opportunities, the Cali school is one of the more laidback schools of Devi. Characteristic of their element, students of the Tempest are given the most freedom and ties to the school aren't encouraged. One can drop by to pick up monthly resources and keep up to date with the ongoing of the school, but it's common for students to not show up for years at a time. The only obligation students have are tests every 5 years to measure growth as well as the Five Crown Tournament, aka the FIVE.
  • Students and masters alike often tour around the mountains in groups to temper their element against harpies and other winged beasts.
