Avalon Founding of the Templar Knights

Founding of the Templar Knights

Gathering / Conference

35AC
3/6

By the grace of El and his divine children and the strength they grant me.

I will protect and keep holy all their places of worship and memory.

I will defend all who enter sites of worship and help them in sickness and in health.

I will never abandon my post no matter how great the foe.

But put my trust in the Gods above and the sword by my side.

-Templar Oath-

On Scroll 6-35 AC the Temple of the Gods in Camelot and the Ancient Provo Temple were burned and desecrated by members of The Ladys Cult. In response clerics and warriors from around Avalon Valley banded together and created the Knights Templar. Their main goal to protect the holy shrines and temples across Avalon Valley. They also uphold the tradition of sanctuary law. Should someone go into a holy site the Knights Templar will not allow people to be arrested or harassed. They will however not feed the person should they be chased by police and will inform police the moment the person leaves the Holy Site.

The first first sites protected was the Temple to the Gods in Camelot as well as the Temples to El in the old Provo City ruins. However one of their founding members a Lowe cleric Calrose Singa led a group of knights to build a small town around the old Payson Temple to insure it was not desecrated.

During their early years the Knights Templar did launch a couple crusades into the Salt Valley along with the Knights Templar. Most of these crusades were unsuccessful in the end and would be stopped in the year 50 AC.

Currently the Knights Templar do not own any estates but do have small barracks in the major cities they use to house their members. Each member is to forge and make their own equipment. The money they use to provide food comes from donations from individuals, business, churches, and some governments.
