Holidays

Day of Serpent's Rage: a celebration in Azteca of their deliverance from the cartels that tried to attack the nation. The holiday is commemorated with the community in a day of feasting and dancing. When night falls citizens will go to the center of their town or city to watch one last dance. There, citizens aged 18 to 23 don cloaks lined with feathers and snake skins and perform The Dance of the Feathered Serpent. This dance is like a prayer made of movement, meant to praise Quetzalcoatl and show gratitude for their belief in the people of Azteca.

[For Players] The Day of Serpent's Rage is an opportunity for adventurers to witness Azteca's deep faith for the Feathered Serpent. Clerics, Paladins, and other worshippers of Quetzalcoatl receive a +2 bonus to Wisdom rolls (due to Quetzalcatl's domain), and a +1 bonus to any social interaction rolls with NPC's.

Physical Description

Body Features

Quetzalcoatl doesn't have hair. What they have instead is a collection of beautiful, emerald green feathers that start at the top of their scalp and fall to their shoulders. The feathers closest to the top of their head are red and yellow. They use their own feathers to decorate their armor.

Personal history

Quetzalcoatl came to Utah after the first invasion by the fabricated. When the Western United States fell to the Aryans, they answered Athena's call for aid and travelled to meet her in what is now Avalon Valley. They spearheaded the creation of the new post-Cataclysm calendar, arguing that the old world was dead and its days had had been counted. It was time to move forward into the new world, and create a new method of numbering its days.

After the calendar was ratified Quetzalcoatl moved to the Southwestern United States where the climate was more agreeable. They soon heard whisperings of students of the University of Arizona Downtown Phoenix wanting to unify and create their own nation. Quetzalcoatl gently urged these students to pursue this desire and made quiet movements to help them succeed. They helped the students find allies and performed other silent acts of guidance. The students were able to form a small independent nation, unknowingly blessed by the Feathered Serpent themself.

However, others were attempting to fill the power vacuum left behind after the Cataclysm. Drug cartels and gangsters were slowly creeping into the Southwest, and the blossoming nation found itself preparing for a battle they most likely wouldn't win. A clash was inevitable, and they prepared themselves to meet it. However the battle ceased after mere minutes when Quetzalcoatl appeared on the battlefield, seething with righteous rage. They condemned the cartels and made their presence and blessing known to the bewildered defenders. Quetzalcoatl supplemented the fighters and assisted in driving the cartels out of Azteca.

Quetzalcoatl rarely travels Northward, but their presence is felt outside of Azteca. Quetzalcoatl also is the patron god of cartographers, and it isn't unusual for a small shrine to be dedicated to them in cartographer offices.
