Creation Myth

The beginning of the world known as Earth and it's universe has always excited mankind. Mankind has spent countless resources and even fought wars looking for an answer. When the old gods reappeared they were almost immediately asked about the creation. Some like Ares and Anubis chose not to answer. Athena was the first to provide an answer. One that most did not like. One that left many with more questions.

Summary

According to Athena (and later corroborated by Quetzalcoatl and Huitaca) the universe is eternal and has always been. There was no beginning as there won't be no end. Out of the primordial chaos several kinds of beings appeared. The Divine who brought order and creation. As well as the Eldritch who devoured all that existed.    Two of the Divine, named El and Asherah. Rose up and organized the matter around them to build the Earth and its universe. This they built in a plane separate from the chaos of the primal void. Here he placed his children to be tested and put through trial. This to see who was worth and truly desiring to become like him.    As for the mechanics of creation. Huitaca stated that most things had already been created in some form in the void. While most didn't last it gave enough of a blueprint for El and Asherah. Those two Divine gathered the matter around them and taught them how to form atoms and even elements. Then the matter was taught how to form shapes. Huitaca says the ancient Bible was correct on the order of how things were organized. However she did say mortals cannot truly understand the time. For time is a creation of man. For eternal beings have no need of time.

Historical Basis

Quetzalcoatl has said that modern scientists were largely correct in their theories about the creation of the world. They have often applauded and aided those who sought to bring back science after the Great Catastrophe. When the Royal Observatory was opened in Azteca they personally attended. As he opened the doors she said these words. "The mysteries of the Universe are meant to be found. Search and you will find."

Variations & Mutation

Over the years many have chose to reinterpret the creation myth. The first variations removed ether El or Asherah altogether. Others from different cults state some Eldritch being created the world. When El saw it he became jealous and forcefully took it over. Other suggest that Lucifer and Asherah had an affair and created the world as a place to spend time. One cult goes as far as to saw that Lucifer is the father of both El and Asherah and was usurped.    Most of these variations are created by cults who worship demons and eldritch beings. As such these variations are largely scoffed at by the general public.

Cultural Reception

Many in the world did not like the God's answers for a multitude of reasons. For some the idea of a creator was too great. Even standing in the presence of Gods they refused to accept the idea of Divine beings. These persons acknowledged the Gods existed. But refused to believe they were divine or had authority to rule them. Or dictate morality for mortals. To others it was too fantastical. Others couldn't accept their God having a wife.  Over the years the words of the Gods have gained more respect and believers. While there are still some who say there is more involved. Most people accept the words of the Gods.

In Literature

After the 1st Aryan War a couple printing press were scavenged or made. One of the first books to be made was scripture for the new Gods. Much like the Bible of old, each book started with the creation of the wold.
