Arman
Arman is an illevan half-elf residing in Syndicate Base 19 after the Sundering. He is a resourceful and rugged tinkerer whose brilliance with machines and tools earned him a reputation even he could not bury. Though his once-strong frame is now leaner from years of hardship, his vitality remains undiminished, and his rough skin bears the marks of long days under the sun and long nights spent repairing the tools of war. His dark, wavy hair, often disheveled, frames a face marked by laugh lines and a pair of warm, amber eyes that gleam like firelight—eyes that hold both the sorrow of loss and the enduring spark of hope.
In another life, Arman might have been a polished, confident man with a popular workshop in the Emerald District of Japhaia and a healthy family. But with the Shadow Wars being what it was, Arman instead became a practical, and resourceful, man who took refuge in what his hands could make. Yet he has remained deeply compassionate in the face of all the hardships and literal darkness and danger of the Sangora plateau.
Appearance
His clothes are patched and worn, his hands calloused, and his tools worn smooth from constant use. Yet his charm lies in his unshakable kindness and easy laughter, even in the darkest of times. He has an uncanny ability to coax life back into broken things, whether they’re mangled weapons, splintered siege engines, or spirits worn thin by grief. Which earned him the attention of Alexandre Kollisi. The supreme general of the Illevan Insurrection himself.Relationship with El
Arman was no stranger to the watering hole that barely could call itself a bar. He was there many times a week, in part to numb himself to the hardships of this life, but also to get a change of pace. Meet the people he shared a home with. One day a black beauty appeared sitting at the bar, fiddling with a drink undrunk. Drawn to her in a way he had not felt in a very, very long time, he struck up a conversation that nearly left him dead in his tracks. El, a sharp-tongued, roguish, and fiercly interdependent Maze Hunter, caught his attention that day and his heart. At first, their interactions were little more than passing conversations. Her sarcastic barbs countered by his good-natured humor, but as they were both pressed into the daily grind of survival and resistance, they found themselves working together more often. His laughter cutting through El's guarded heart, while her sharp wit and resilience reminded him of the beauty that still existed in a shattered world. Arman found himself opening up about the Sundering, about his home and past in Japhaia, where he learned his craft. While El remained on guard, her stories of their shared home led him to believe that she did not speak the truth. But his trust in her stayed his tongue, though the worry sometimes kept him awake at night. Though both are quite aware of the temporary nature of their relationship, the connection they have is not. El inspires Arman to dream beyond the Base, while Arman himself becomes the steady presence and beacon of hope that El never knew she needed.
