Beorning
Beornings are a rare people. They do not leave the North very often, and when they do, they have the uncommon ability to find themselves all in one place, almost as if they attract each other. They are very communal, and act as a clan, often looking out for each other, before others. Beornings mostly care for protecting what it is they consider home, and are adverse to greed.
They respect strength above all else, often disregarding attempts to lead without a show of strength. Most grow up learning how to survive harsh environments of cold, and to hunt. While not all are officially hunters, most have at least the basic skill sets required to survive. They are fairly new to common, at least those who come from the far North recently, and are more used to speaking Hagvir-Togg… known to others as North-speak. It is a Runic language that is unknown to anyone other than Beornings. It was once a language that contained words of Power - words that could inflict magic upon an object or target, but these powerful runic words have long been lost to time.
They found themselves at odds with the dwarves many times, even in open conflict, because of this Runic ability, and while they never managed to pry these secrets from Beorning clans, they did destroy relations between the two peoples. While they are no longer in open conflict any longer, it is not uncommon for the two to regard each other with hate and distrust. It is rare for the two to have more than a working relationship, and a strained one at best.
