King Aleus is the previous ruler of Arilaand, the oldest of the Human kingdoms. He was 71, old for a man, and was a well known and respected ruler by those that neighbor him, and lived under his rule.
However, all of Arilaand is in decline. Due to his lack of aggression, The Empire had ignored all attempts at negotiation with this lord, and have rejected any attempts at trade. Upon hearing this, Haeloth to the north, not wanting bad relations with the Empire, even though they despise them, had all but cut ties with King Aleus. This had caused the Kingdom to begin to falter, with almost all trade being halted, and no visitors arriving with goods.
