Vengili shamanism is the traditional religious practice among the Vengili people.

Spirits

The Vengili believe that human bodies are home to animal spirits found in differing parts of the body.

• The raven spirit dwells within the skull,
• The bear spirit dwells within the neck,
• The boar spirit dwells within the ribs,
• The horse spirit dwells within the navel,
• The ox spirit dwells within the shoulders,
• The stag spirit dwells within the hips,
• The cat spirit dwells within the ankles,
• The wolf spirit dwells within the teeth and jaw,

Each of the spirits are also gendered, with each gender being more attuned to certain spirits, namely women with the horse, cat, raven, and boar spirits, and men with the bear, ox, stag, and wolf spirits.

A kef-kal is a person who has lived much of their early life with wild animals.
