Dragons

Dragons are among the oldest and most powerful creatures in the known world. Legend has it that the Dragons were the first sentient beings created by the divines, shaped by Ramos in his own image. They are massive flying reptiles possessing keen intelligence, enormous physical strength, and devastating energy breath weapons. There are many different varieties of dragon adapted to all manner of habitat and they can be found throughout the Old Word and the New.

Dragons are typically reclusive and solitary creatures. Although highly intelligent, they have no “society” to speak of. Individual dragons mostly keep to themselves, only gathering in large groups to mate and exchange information. Dragons generally stay out of the affairs of mortal civilizations, considering themselves above the petty squabbles of men. Some dragons are actively hostile toward mortals, where others are more benevolent, if somewhat disinterested. All of them are terrible foes when angered however, and it is best to tread lightly when dealing with them. Conversely, in rare cases, dragons may form close friendships with particular mortals. Earning a dragon’s trust is extraordinarily difficult, but they can make powerful friends indeed. Aledar Hammerhand, the first king of Felderen, befriended a golden dragon.
