Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs are gigantic terrestrial reptiles native to the jungles of Austrolaria. They vary wildly in habitat and appearance but are generally large, irritable, and dangerous. The lizardmen have domesticated many species of dinosaur and use them for all manner of tasks. Gargantuan sauropods and fearsome tyrannosaurs are often ridden in warfare, used in much the same way elephantry or heavy cavalry would be in the Old World. Smaller, swifter allosaurs and velociraptors are often ridden by mounted archers and other forms of light skirmishers. Lumbering triceratops and ankylosaurs are used as beasts of burden in agriculture and construction. Not all of the great lizards are domestic animals however. Wild dinosaurs inhabit the deep jungles of the interior and can be very dangerous. Many of the larger carnivores sit at the top of the Austrolarian food chain and have been the demise of many a careless traveler or unwary explorer.
