Lore 1 - General Giancarlo

Through ages past and present many warriors have risen and fallen. Few match the military skill of Giancarlo Mercia. Born in the year 4924, he quickly showed skill as a fighter and entered the army of Atheroes at a young age. He rose up the chain of command and soon became a general.
He proved himself on the battlefield many times in small skirmishes between Atheroes and Oldenbromm, far from the watchful eyes of the magus. Superior reasoning skills allow him to control the battlefield, picking fights on his terms and avoiding the loss of his men. Ruthless to his enemies, he garners a reputation that causes many to retreat rather that fight against this monstrous tactician.
Do not mistake him for a heartless warrior, however, he had a long record of cleaning out corruption. He was demoted after showing the people the abuses of a soldier under his command. The military police had no choice but to relieve Commodore Foster Brooks from his position, but Giancarlo's career never recovered. Blackballed by command and looked at as a whistleblower by his peers he was assigned to guard duty in Grabstein, a slap in the face to a warrior who wished to die in battle.
The political implications of a high profile military life was not pleasing to him and he resigned in the year 4998. A few supporters followed him, but only time will tell if he will ever make a comeback.
