The Omni's Past

The Garden of the Fiends

The Daemons, hideous beings born of the deepest Everdark, rise in several worlds. First they would rise into the volcanic wastes, but they would soon expand into greener lands. Wherever the Daemons walked, fire and misery followed in their wake. For thousands of years, they would build vast empires linked by Onyx Gates that would traverse them instantly from one palace to another.   As the new worlds cooled and the volcanic lands became vast oceans, sprawling jungles, deep forests, and wind-swept grasslands the Daemons began to recede. This climactic change would leave them vulnerable at the claws of their first true nemesis.

It is not known if the Weres were created by the Dragons or they were discovered, but their fate was assured either way. The rangers of the Draconis Imperatus, the Weres kept watch on the frontiers where they would learn to survive and thrive at all costs.

  • In the Draconic Age
    The Rise of the Humani
    Celestial

While the when of the other Races' enslavement is not known, it is generally believed that the Humani tribes were brought into the folds of Draconic slavery last. The Humani served as the connecting link between all of the other Draconic slave races. While this served to make the new Draconic slave empires ever more efficient and powerful, it also provided a seed bed for what would, one day, bring an end to this era.

  • In the Draconic Age
    The Draconis Imperium
    Founding

At the Apex of the Draconic Age came the Draconis Imperium, where a cadre of Dragons under the primogenitor-turned-Emperor Hueronaeg would form as massive nation. • In the Draconic Age
    The Republican Schism
    Disaster / Destruction

The Enlightened Republic and it's egalitarian ideals, would cause rifts within all of the Draconic societies and empires. While Imperial Draconia writ large would never allow slaves to have a say in political affairs, the Republic would allow slaves to purchase their freedom, own property, and even be elected to advisory positions to the Dragons themselves. While Humani, Dwarmish, Ella and Weres would never sit atop regional or national political power, they would be allowed limited economic and political freedom.

The Orthodoxy, made up of an alliance of most of the elder dragons and their slave armies, would nearly decimate their enemies after a few short years of war. However, before the killing blow could be delivered; the Daemons would return. The War of the Gates would end in an uneasy truce, as a revitalized Daemon horde would begin burning a path of hell across the Omni.

  • In the Age of Fire
    The Prophets of Neamh
    Religious event

During the Second Fire, celestial prophets would appear amongst the Races in the chaos of war and lead them to Neamh, a world as of yet undiscovered by the Dragons or Daemons.
