The Bijou
Their existence tied to the weave of mana itself, the Bijou deal with a constantly fluxing energy inside them. This energy inside them is untamed and consuming as it slowly drains them of their power before reweaving their power with the rising sun.
A Bijou individual could find themselves energized to no end, but by the end of the day completely drained of any and all energy. Because of this, they can sense sources of raw magic and siphon it to fuel their power it once more.
As the Bijou are connected to magic & mana directly, they are naturally affixed to forgotten and obscure magic such as psionics and advanced forms of transmutation to fit their everyday needs.
The Bijou are humanoid looking individuals capable of changing their crystalline arms in a moments notice. Often in their underground civilizations, they would change their arms to a pickaxe, a weapon or any tool that could aid them at the time. Because of this, they are naturally resourceful and use their abundance of energy in the day to work tirelessly before turning in for the night.
Discovered by dwarven miners, the Bijou were found in the farthest depths of the underground. Living between the veils of the Underdark and the surface world, the first Bijou was found. Found embedded into rock and stone, the miners thought it to be a crystal and attempted to mine it but instead found a frantic humanoid creature fending for their life. Out of fear, the individual would unleash chaos energy eviscerating any and all miners damning their souls to the afterlife. The experience has scarred not only many minors keeping them wary of where they go, but also the Bijou as the newer species makes their homes underground rarely ever moving to the surface.

A Bijou has the constant weave of mana coursing through their veins, constantly draining and resurging them with power. This is a deteriorating process and shortens their lifespan significantly compared to their true potential. Bijou may reach adulthood at age 18 and live up to 200 years.
Alignment
As Bijou are raw chaos incarnate, they often lean to chaotic tendencies and alignment to not be controlled. Most being Good aligned with their explosive personalities, an evil Bijou may be one who focuses on siphoning magic from all sources, even living creatures.
Size
Bijou often resemble their human counterparts and can vary heavily in shape and size.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision
Your Darkvision has a radius of 60 feet.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common & Undercommon.
Arcane Paragon
You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill.
Tools of The Trade
Upon finishing a short or long rest, you may choose to transmute your arms into any artisan’s tool of your choice(see the “Equipment” chapter in the Player’s Handbook for a list of artisan’s tools). Whatever form the tool takes, you are proficient with it.
Mana Siphon
You learn the detect magic spell.
You may cast the detect magic spell in the casting time of 1 action. When cast in this way, you may siphon mana from sources of magic or creatures containing the Spellcasting ability. Upon doing so, you gain one spell slot. Its level may be equal to or lower than half your character level and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
