Hanu Organization in Aurora | World Anvil

Hanu

Celestial Born

Clerics and priests proclaim that the birth of a race or the will of people stems from the image or intent of a celestial body which they are given flesh from. If the gods of the multiverse gave concept to their creations, it would not be strange that concept formed by their creations may also be adopted by themselves. However, one celestial being looked upon the gods and their creations finding fault with one creation in particular, Humans.

The Trickster God

This celestial found fault with Humans and deemed that it was necessary to make them more primal and less complex. As the centuries moved on the celestial attempted to mold the advancement of Humans by appearing to them in strange forms to give them ill advice or lead them astray. The gods Human's worshiped disrupted the beings changes calling them a "Trickster" and exiling them.
Now with malice for the other gods along with their creations the Trickster found simians and with their power gave apes a touch of their influence. The simians stood upright gaining a semblance of sentience, the Trickster came before his creations as a shapeless beam of light and gave them purpose, to bring chaos and interfere with the machinations of Humans who neglect the will of their Trickster god.

A Living Mockery

The Hanu are humanoids with simian features, created by the Trickster to act as a sort of mockery to Humans. The Trickster's will to the Hanu is interpreted in various ways, some find that mingling with other humanoids societies and being around them is a broad enough example of spreading it's influence, while others will believe that the Trickster wants the Hanu to be the dominant species, that all other humanoids are an insult and must be eradicated.
The Hanu associate the Trickster with no form and believe that attempting to communicate with the Trickster is folly, that it's message and will will come to them as it sees fit. The most devout to the Trickster will create societies in jungles, islands, mountains or other remote places of the world awaiting a grand sign or massive change to the world as the Trickster's will. Because of this the Hanu are subject to blindly associating a natural or even tactfully crafted forgery of power or might as a sign from the Trickster.
By this logic any who holds enough power to bring great change to the world, such as a stray wizard or demon, may be able to coerce a village of Hanu to serve them with a grand show of chaotic spectacle.
