Floralin

Floralin are one of the few sapient plant races on Tehiri, with a subspecies for nearly every environment the world has to offer. Their origin is somewhat of an enigma, with the true location of origin for the species being completely unknown. Still- a type of Floralin can be found almost anywhere in Tehiri, and with them unique abilities and cultures.
Biologically, Floralin are not dissimilar to many humanoids. They produce heat, they have a vascular system that sends sap through their bodies, they live for roughly 100 years, and they typically take on a bipedal human-like shape. Some Floralin may have more extreme features, but these parts are consistent.
Uniquely to Floralin however, the species reproduces via seeds that need to be planted in the ground and tended to for roughly six months. When a seed sprouts, a new Floralin is born, almost always taking on the characteristics of native wildlife wherever they sprouted. This phenomenon is theorized to be the source behind the dizzying number of Floralin variants found in Tehiri.

Subraces

There are five subraces of Floralin: Arid, Boreal, Glade, Shore, and Urban.

Arid Floralin

Arid Floralin are found in hot and dry places, such as savannas and deserts. They tend to resemble hardy desert plants and trees, with stoic personalities to match. They’re most commonly found in Al’Taj, typically working as couriers, laborers, and hunters.

Adaptation
You gain resistance to fire damage and advantage on rolls to avoid the effects of extreme heat.

Spiked Body
While you aren’t wearing armor, your body gives you a base armor class of 13 + your Dexterity modifier. Additionally, if you’re hit with an attack that would grapple you, you can use your reaction to make a Constitution saving throw against the attack roll. On a success, you automatically break the grapple and deal 1d6 piercing damage to the attacker.

Boreal Floralin

Adaptation
You gain resistance to cold damage and advantage on rolls to avoid the effects of extreme cold.

Steadying Roots
As a bonus action, you can enter a state where your body rapidly regenerates itself. At the start of each of your turns, you regain a number of hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. This lasts for one minute and can only be entered once, regaining its use on a long rest.

Brawny

Glade Floralin

Glade Floralin tend to appear near large gardens and orchards. They tend to look the most overtly floral of all Floralin, and have a reputation for their natural charm. They’re found frequently in Omari, and find work often as merchants, performers, and arborists.

Adaptation
You gain advantage on saves to avoid being charmed, and you cannot be put to sleep against your will.

Grown Composure
You gain a pool of d4s equal to 1 + your proficiency bonus that represents your character’s natural composure. When you fail a saving throw or ability check, you can use your reaction to spend any amount of these dice and add them to your total, potentially turning it into a success. You regain all of your spent dice back on a long rest.

Frilly
You gain proficiency in one type of artisan's tools of your choice, and can grow these tools as part of a short rest. Only one grown copy of these tools can exist at once.

Worldly
You gain a +5 to your passive perception and cannot be surprised unless you are incapacitated.
