Muertlan, Festival of the Dead. Held on the final days of the Auran calander, this three day festival celebrates those who have passed aways during the year, as well as the closing of the current year. The first day is a remembrance of ancestors and community founders, while the second is a vigil held by the close friends and family of those who have passed during the year. The third day is a memorial to soldiers lost in war, and the final day is a celebration of the year gone and a chapter of life closed.

A thin woman in more than just frame and stature, Shantai frequently appears slightly translucent when she manifests an avatar. Her porcelain white skin and long black hair add to this effect.

Personal history

Shantai is a creature of the Ritual of Binding, before which she was two beings; Ralan of the Council of Aleth and Skethrin of the shadow elementals. For reasons that none know, the explosion of the Fracture utterly ripped apart apart both of their souls and in their wake a completely new being emerged. Her shadow fueled powers cemented her place as goddess of death.
