Personal history

In the depths of Auras's past in the dawn of its birth, one of the first aspects of reality was heat. Elemental Fire was the second of the primal forces to begin to coalesce. It was the first to give rise to entities of its embodiment. Fuegan was not the first elemental to awaken, but he was among them. Like his siblings he grew in power rapidly, drawing ever more primal fire from the Blind Eternities into the congealing mass that was forming around them. Drawing in, consuming, spawning others like himself; and they in turn perpetuating this cycle. This was the first stage of the life cycle of the Time of Tumult.
Soon Fuegan and his siblings became aware of other elementals; Earth first, Water and Air followed soon, Light and Shadow after them, and finally verdant Nature. Where the earth elementals went the nascent world became solid and firm, this could give support to a fire, but could also smother and extinguish one. The water elementals robbed fire of the heat it craved and needed to live, and sent Fuegan's brethren hissing and sputtering to extinction. The air elementals could fan, stoke, and spread flames, but could also scatter and overwhelm them. The light nourished and replenished while the shadow drained corrupted and drained their will and life force. And the verdant, the verdant burned and crackled so beautifully. And thus did the second stage of Auras's birth proceed. With Fuegan and his kin sporting and warring by spells, alternately feeding feeding and constructing or destroying each other and the world around them as elemental energies continued to bathe and saturate the young world.
During this period Fuegan rose to become the most powerful of the fire elementals and leader of his people, a position he kept throughout the Time of Tumult and beyond. As the interactions with other elementals became more grand and intricate a new faction appeared; the mortal races. For a long time Fuegan and his kin ignored them, much as a lion ignores the ants or flies around its dinner. Then suddenly one day the air elementals were all gone, just vanished. A couple of weeks later word reach Fuegan that the earth elementals had also vanished, and the a month after that the water elementals had likewise disappeared. Then Fuegan found himself confronted with a group of those mortals calling themselves the Council of Aleth. After a drawn out battle, the unthinkable happened; Fuegan was defeated. At the last moment, an illusion dropped revealing a heavily scarred and bandaged human in a black kilt completing the Ritual of Binding. Immediately Fuegan found himself in a field of ash and embers surrounded by almost all of the population of Auras's fire elementals. Soon, they discovered that they were inside of some kind of fiery pocket dimension, which was connected to a similar pocket dimension for earth, air, and water, as well as the other missing elemental armies.
Then, white hot heat, blinding pressure, and a soul rending scream of agony in Fuegan's mind and he found himself back on Auras with about a third of his elemental peoples; as well as a host of new senses and awarenesses. The world heaved and shuddered and Fuegan felt it's agony and strain in his own mind. Confused, disoriented, and nearly panicked he could think only of getting somewhere safe and found himself elsewhere on the planet. Over the next few months Fuegan learned to use and control his new senses and abilities, called the remnants of his people to him, and discovered that the Council of Aleth still walked the land somewhere. Once organized, he announced himself and declared his identity as the God of Fire and Hope, as well as his direct challenge to the Council of Aleth to face him again in a fair fight. Following his lead, the other Elemental leaders emerged and mutually declared their godhoods, then the Council reappeared and also claimed godhood and the first divine war broke out.
Fuegan found that he couldn't enjoy this war as he had revels of he past, his new connection with Auras allowing him to feel its pain as the godswar scourged it. By the close of a century he was convinced that the Aletheans had been correct to confront him and his kin, and that if the war wasn't ended, it would destroy the world. He sent emissaries to Corlan En-Dal and the other elemental gods and within a year The Accord of Aleth was signed and Fuegan joined his fellow gods in dividing Auras into the elemental and divine planes as well as the material world. The Accord also organized the Council of Aleth into the Alethean High Court and the Elemental gods into the Court of Elements as well as joining the two courts into the Alethean Pantheon.
