Capetian
For a reason long-lost to custom and tradition, the heirs and consorts of Occitania take multiple names, never less than five and never more than twelve. Christopher Rupert has the longest name in recent history with nine. Ella, when she married Christopher Rupert, added five names to her single first name. As an added fact, they are always introduced with their full names at court and then "first of their name" which is a playful dig at Francia, Ceredigion, and Gwynedd which all reuse first names for heirs and heiresses.
Culture
All members of the Royal House of Capetian follow the traditional naming structure which includes: no less than seven names; at least one name from Arthurian Legend; at least one Biblical name; no repeats within four generations. (i.e. Prince Chadwick Gilroy has two Arthurian Legend names–Garrick and Bedivere– and Paul as his Biblical name (as an homage to his maternal grandfather).
| Formal | Informal |
|---|---|
| Full Rank, Name, Family Name, and "the first of their name" | Full Rank, their first two Names, and Family Name |
| King Maximillian Godfrey Ladislaus Leopold Sidney Frederick John De Rege, the first of his name | King Maximillian Godfrey De Rege |
Those that marry into the Royal House typically add to their names after marriage (i.e. Princess Consort Ella Marie-Madeline De Rege was simply Ella Allard prior to her marriage to Crown Prince Christopher Rupert).
History
The Royal House of Capetian is descended from the Royal House of Pendragon. The Royal House of Capetian has ruled the kingdom of Occitania for five hundred and fifty-one (551) years.
