Telekinetic Lightsaber Combat

Telekinetic lightsaber combat is the art and practice of wielding one's lightsaber with Force-based telekinesis. It is extremely difficult, and requires great aptitude in such applications of the Force. The primary advantages of such a fighting form is obvious; range ceased to be an issue, and the option of wielding numerous lightsabers simultaneously becomes viable. The most basic application of telekinesis in lightsaber combat is the saber throw. Using the Force to guide a lightsabers arc through the air, users can throw their lightsabers in a boomerang fashion, cutting apart obstacles and surprising foes. More adept users of such a technique can hurl their lightsabers across great distances, make mid-air course-corrections, or simply allow their lightsaber to hover in place.       Description   These techniques centre around manipulating a lightsaber through telekinesis while in combat.     Saber Barrier   A defensive technique, the saber barrier is a telekinetic lightsaber combat technique. It consists of having the lightsabers whirl, hovering in a horizontal circle around the saber-wielding practitioner, thus creating a defensive yet deadly wall of lightsaber blades, and defends the user primarily against melee attacks.  Darth Traya used a variant of this power in her final confrontation with Meetra Surik, conjuring three violet lightsabers to fight for her.     Saber Throw   Saber throw is an offensive use of the lightsaber. The Force user, whether by manually locking the blade in the 'on' position or holding in the activation button using the Force, can throw the lightsaber in a boomerang fashion, with it cutting its way through obstacles and (usually after deactivation) return to the hand of the caster. Variations in the skill of the user mean some can hurl their lightsabers great distances, make mid-air course corrections, or keep their blade hovering in place after being thrown. These techniques, finely honed, can be combined to make telekinetic lightsaber combat possible.  Also, there is a destructive variation of the technique where the saber can be thrown straight towards a target.  It is extremely damaging if it hits vital parts of the body, such as the head or heart.     Telekinetic lightsaber combat   Telekinetic lightsaber combat techniques make use of telekinesis in lightsaber combat. Some telekinetic lightsaber combat techniques, like the Saber throw, are offensive, while others are defensive.   Darth Traya has displayed the most remarkable form of telekinetic lightsaber combat recorded to date - having shown the ability to wield at least three lightsabers independently in combat, holding each of them aloft with the Force, and having them fight with a will of their own.   The Reborn Revan utilised a similar technique during his fight with the strike team on Yavin 4 inside the Temple of Sacrifice, using both his backup and the blade of his former friend, Malak, to combat his opponents several times during the confrontation; however they were easily knocked down into the centre of the chamber or over the edge several times before his retreat from the temple.
