Reminders of long lost past.

If you feel weak, think you are weak, and perceive yourself as weak.
Next time we will be close, I will show you the weak.
Statues of people who used to be heroes of their times. Corruption occasionally brings their spirits back.
Let me tell you this. Even the weakest Raider of our age is much stronger than the strongest heroes of the past we left behind.

Description

In the times before the Cataclysm. The kingdoms often created stone or marble statues of their own heroes.
After the cataclysm, and The Grand migration the population on the ground below plummeted due to infighting of all the kingdoms and attacks of wild beasts.   But the statues of old heroes stayed behind. The Corruption occasionally brings the statues to life.
Few historical texts, salvaged from the falling kingdom's libraries, shed light on who the heroes were, and in one case even their specific fighting.
It was found that the abilities and skills of the animated statues were significantly warped by how the heroes were perceived by the population of people who were slowly being wiped out on the ground below.   It is therefore unknown if the animated statues are stronger or weaker than their originals.
However what is known, is that they pale in comparison the Raiders

Placements

The statues are remnants of long-forgotten heroes. As such, they are placed at ruins of old castles, or they mark a place where an important town once stood. The towns are long gone without any hint of their presence other than the occasional statues.   Trying to move the statues elsewhere is futile, as they always return to their resting places when left alone.

Purpose past and present.

In the past, these statues were made to honor the deeds of heroes. The times are long gone and forgotten.
After the Atocitera changed, these statues instead served as guardians of the destroyed cities and castles.
At first, they posed a serious threat to the Raiders, but the Raiders kept honing their techniques, skills, and tactics for centuries, while the statues remained the same.
Now the animated statues serve as little more than reacting target dummy.
But they are not harmless. Some Raiders still get hurt when they give in to the arrogance of their seeming superiority.
Against such Raiders. The animated statues suddenly burst with skills and abilities far beyond their norm.   If such Raider survives this encounter, they are quickly brought to humility again.
