Godswar

The Godswar was a time when gods waged open warfare between each other, with Creation being both battlefield and weapon. It was waged between two factions of gods, initially over the inequality of power they were receiving from mortal worship, and later as a matter of survival as the fighting grew increasingly deadly both for mortals and gods alike. As the Godswar escalated, the power of War grew to eclipse the other gods, and it became clear he had no intention of ending the conflict; whenever one faction would come close to a final victory, War changed sides, relishing in the fighting and the power he was gaining from it as the embodiment of conflict. The Godswar finally ended when Time sacrificed herself to defeat War. Without his presence, and both sides feeling defeated, the Godswar came to an end with the signing of the Divine Concordat.
