Steynic

A human kingdom at the end tip of the Atlian Subcontinent. It borders Itini to the north.   Steynic is a land of rolling hills and shallow marshes. The water table is quite high in Steynic, so things flood easily. The flip side is that most people have access to fresh water quite easily. Being low lying and marshy, Steynic is plagued by a number of maladies, first and foremost amongst them being Slight Rot.   Steynic is ruled by Queen Luna Arellana and her consort Marcos. Steynic is a mostly human nation, largely conservative and an intellectual backwater. They worship Obin and to a lesser degree Capur. Steynic is loosely controled by the Queen while other powerful barons control the other cities.   The largest city is Hayword, with the capital of Steynic being a defensible citadel but its out one a rocky outcropping on a cape and is generally too windy. Both Hayword and Steynic are under control of the Queen. The other major settlements are controlled by lesser barrons. Lewes is under control of Barron Damon Greenfield. Wycombe is controlled by Baroness Margery Kemp. Chertsey is controlled by Baron Winston Miller. Cranleigh is controlled by the Blind Barron, James Paulus. He was on a hunting trip when his horse broke its leg in a ditch. He was thrown forward and into a deep patch of swamp. An alligator tore off his arm. He killed the beast with a dagger but was separated from his hunting party who were near his dying horse.   The sigil of Steynic is the White Horse, Hengeron. Hengeron was the horse of Sir Olwen Callelinthin, a crusader and paladin of Obin that won a pitched battle against the orcish natives of Steynic. The Battle of the Long Grass was in fact a massacre, the orcs were tricked by a flag of truce and lured onto a long plain, where they were charged by Olwen's heavy knights and slaughtered.   ReligionsL Capur and Obin
