As the High Marshal of Sommergarde, Henri d'Charantes I commands the full might of the Sommergardian military forces. Henri I favors thoughtful action over the slow crawl of bureaucracy, though he has a deep respect for hierarchy and authority. As such, although he is often at odds with Prince Caorus IV and his ideologies, Henri I serves his prince to his utmost in every respect.
Most recently, the High Marshal lead his forces on the Valeonian capital of Sainte Aemilie following the liberation of the city by the Star Seekers from the usurpation of the archfey Fianna. The princedom was ceded to Sommergarde shortly afterward with little resistance, as the people of Valeon had suffered under the rule of the previous prince, Ettore di Valeon. This act established Sommergarde as the largest and most powerful of the Evalysian princedoms.
