This page covers the Life Cycle of the most common sentient creatures on Athoria, typical ages for adolescense and adulthood along with expected life spans based on age alone.

 

Humans

Infants: 0 - 4/5 Years
Adolescents: Between 12 and 14 years
Physical Adulthood: Between 19 and 24 years
Cultural Adulthood: Depending on local rites, usually around the age of 20

Dwarves

Infants: 0 - 4/5 Years

Notes on the Iron Forged

  Notes: As iron forged are created from already living beings, their aging process is irrelevant. Only adults of other cultures have been permitted iron forged status, there are no records of children being created. There have yet been no cases of Ironforged sucumbing to old age.  

Goblins

Infants: 0 - 2/3 Years
Adolescents: Between 8 and 10 years
Physical Adulthood: Between 14 and 16 years
Cultural Adulthood: Usually around the age of 15

Orcs

Infants: 0 - 3/4 Years
Adolescents: Between 10 and 12 years
Physical Adulthood: Between 16 and 20 years
Cultural Adulthood: Depending on local rites, usually around the age of 18
Common Lifespan Maximum: 70 - 90
  Notes:

Myceliods

Infants: Depending on number of parents, this stage is often skipped straight into childhood
Adolescents: Depending on number of parents, this stage can range from being immediate to only taking 4 years to reach
Physical Adulthood: Usually occurs within 4 years of Adolescents
Cultural Adulthood: When a myceliod is first able to self transfer bodies.
Common Lifespan Maximum: 30 - 200. Dependant on number of times transfered into new bodies
  Notes: Due to the Myceliod's unique life cycle, how developed their offsrping are depend on how many parents contribute to the reproduction. As such, there are often no "baby" myceliods, as they are created with enough memories from their parents to skip straight to childhood or adolescence.

Lepitera

Infants: 0 - 1 Year
Adolescents: Between 2 and 3 years
Physical Adulthood: Able to mature after 5 years, but optional
Cultural Adulthood: Upon Metamorphosis
Common Lifespan Maximum: 4-6 years after Meamorphosis
  Notes: Lepitra choose when to mature into their adult forms. Otherwise, their Adolescent forms age incredibly slowly. The current oldest Lepitera is close to 1000 years old as she had never matured to an adult form.  

Lizard-Kin

Infants: 6 Months for Kobolds, 0 - 1/2 years for others
Adolescents: 3-4 years for Kobolds, 8-9 years for others
Physical Adulthood: 4-5 years for Kobolds, 16 - 18 years for others
Cultural Adulthood: 4-5 years for Kobolds, 20 years for others
Common Lifespan Maximum: 30 for Kobolds, 50 - 80 for others
  Notes: Liazrd Kin share an ancestrery and reproduction cycle. When a Lizard-kin lays an egg, the environment it develops in determins the resulting specifies from Kobold, Lizardfolk or Dragonborn. If the egg is kept in a dry area, it will develop quicker and hatch sooner into a Kobold. If the egg is kept damp, it will take longer to hatch as a lizardfolk. For a dragonborn to be born requires a specific rite to alloy the egg with Investiture regardless of the other species traits.  

Awakened Animals

Infants: Matching Birth species
Adolescents: Matching Birth species
Physical Adulthood: Matching Birth species
Cultural Adulthood: Upon Spending 2 - 3 years near or among culture, the creature can awaken at the same time, during or after Adolescens
Common Lifespan Maximum: Approximatly 2 - 3 times normal species length
  Notes: Awakened animals mature at the same age as their more mundane counter parts physically. Awakening into their sentient state takes 2 - 3 years of being around other creatures before their sentience awakens which can happen anytime after Adolecence. The awakening usually leads to a longer length of life, but still based around the average life of the more mundane of their kind.  

Notes on Riftborn

Riftborn indivisuals skew the normal ages related to a species. A Human born infused with the power of the fae realm may take on a more elven length of lifestyle, while a dwarf born with the essence of the plane of fire may die earlier as they literally burn through their life force.
