Session 23: The Mansion of the Baroness, or Not Mushroom for Goodbyes
General Summary
After the events of Beach day, Loanedth cannot be found by their party members. This becomes a problem when Gul'Khaan is alerted by Philtris Fenhorn to come to the Guildmaster's office, and bring their team. Philtris sends the young Vargas Middleson to look for Nil-enor Ulkas, while Gul retrieves William.
Nil-enor's morning prayers are interrupted by Vargas, who also asks if he knows where the fourth member of their party is. An irate Nil-enor is glad not to know. And meanwhile, Gul finds William bumming on U'la's couch.
Loanedth, having spent the last 2 days sleeping on Gordon's couch, tells the elf that they plan on lining up a new job, no longer considering themself a member of the Guild. Gordon is sad to see Loanedth go. Just then, a telegram arrives for Gordon, which Loanedth reads to him.
When William, Nil-enor and Gul'khaan arrive, they find the Guildskeepers all in disarray. Bryta fills them in: Zat, Raikira Vorjid, Jindaar Vorjid and Jake Scott left on their latest contract yesterday, and not too long after, Bryta recieved disturbing news in the form of a document.
When they arrive, they find the barrier around the ancient estate, and onlookers confused and annoyed at this new addition to the neighborhood. With Philtris's prayers to her patron Ephine, and a nod to Nil-enor from Xandeyr, the three Guildskeepers open a hole in the barrier long enough to get the party in. In the silence of the dome, the adventurers stare down this mansion of magic.

I do not appreciate the Guild sending a would-be adventurers and vagrants to my home. I have existed in this home for hundreds of years, and I shall not be ousted because someone has decided to try and buy this land. No others shall step foot upon my property so long as I live.Bryta tells the group that a great arcane barrier has been erected around the mansion, and nothing can get in or out. Bryta believes that she, combined with the force of Philtris and Xandeyr, might be able to open a hole long enough to get a party in, and there is no one else for the job but this squad. Short of Loanedth however, Philtris gets an adventurer who recently transferred in from the Guildhall in Lodon: the ranger Phaeradina. As they become acquainted, Hatano appears, and sells the party a few items.
