Session 11: Festival of Arcana, or Indoctrination of a Child

General Summary

It is on the Festival of Arcana that our group finds themselves in Muli, resting up before their quest to rescue William Grimhound's daughter, U'la. Each takes time to prepare themselves.

The resident cleric and street-preacher Nil-enor Ulkas shouts at the masses the true origins of the festival as a celebration of Erlos, Old God of Magic and Knowledge. Nil-enor also found that Zat had followed him into the streets, and he taught the young goblin about the truth of the old gods. When Nil-enor returned to his parents' house for a festival feast, Zat tagged along and was happily accepted as someone else to share a meal with.

Gul'Khaan sorted out his application for the Guild of Adventurers with Philtris Fenhorn, who he found he related to more than expected: Philtris is a former druid, who appreciates the value of nature like him. With his GoA pin recieved, Gul also got to talking with the two other dragonborns in the guild, twins Raikira and Jindaar Vorjid.

William and his mushroom friend Loanedth  decided to get some strength training in with Ulaan. William's rage and lack of planning was pointed out by the Guildskeeper of Training, who told the tiefling that if he continues to act without a plan, he will find himself unable to face the challenges ahead of him. It was by relying on his friends, in this case Loanedth, that he could start to grow stronger, not just in body, but in mind.

After a shopping session that saw the purchase of Feldin's Tome of Lesser Arcana amongst other things, Nil-enor was awakened in the night to a strange note: "Bring the Black Stone." After discussing it with Loanedth, who had the stone in their possession, Nil-enor decided to go without it. At a seedy tavern, Nil-enor enountered the note's author, Guildskeeper of Magical Artifacts and Research, Xandeyr, who revealed that he thought that the Black Stone was a fragment of the object that the Old Gods used to defeat Terrus, the Traitor God. Each fragment held a part of the Gods' power, and could be potentially used to restore them to power. The only problem: the first fragment had been sold to the one and only Hatano.
