Civilization and Culture

History

Humans were the last creation of the Dead God, made from Its heart. Together, they built kingdoms and fought against the monsters of the world. But their nature turned them towards the darkness where they enslaved their own kind. They created a cast of servants who then became stunted over generations: the dwarves.
Comfortable in their cities built on the labor of their slaves, the humans turned to the mystical and arcane. They discovered voidstone and began using it. Those of the highest classes became changed with prolonged exposure, becoming the first elves.
With their superficial differences, the mortals turned on themselves and allowed their kingdoms to crumble. Creatures lurking in the shadows took a powerful hold on the world in the brief lapse of vigilance, and now the mortals fight to hold on to their last bits of civilization and chance for survival. Only time will tell if they will be successful.
