Ridgerend

Ridgerend is a kingdom of Atelier nestled in the eastern side of the Iron Mountain Range, to the north of Greenmarsh and west of Triarth. It is run by a council of noble gnomes representing the different provinces within the kingdom.

Structure

The council leader, Herman Bendrel, is the executive officer of the Ridgerend Noble Council, which is comprised of the Lords of Ridgerend. Below the lords are the executors, who hold the traditional titles of duke, earl, baron, and so forth - however, though lords in the traditional sense of the word, executors are not referred to as such, with the title of "lord" being reserved for members of the Council. They are referred to either by their specific title, as executor, or as a liege.

Culture

Ridgerend is highly industrious, harboring a rivalry with Forgen as the only other kingdom with the capacity to work Adamantine at scale. Ridgerenders are known as innovative and studious workers, always trying to improve upon existing techniques with fresh inventions, new methods, and novel perspectives - even if they don't always work as expected. Failure is seen as a necessary step to progress, leading to the Ridgerend axiom of "The greatest successes are built on mountains of failed attempts."
