History
Estariol was one of the oldest elven settlements known to modern history. It was originally founded by Tsauni, the first king of Déon, when he washed ashore on the island after a storm. The city was the center of the Kingdom of Déon for nearly a millenium. In 1729 IR, Déon was subjected to a surprise invasion by the Ajokai Empire. Despite fierce resistance from the elves, after three years of fighting the kingdom was on its last legs. With the Ajokai horde advancing upon Estariol and King Elegost killed in the fighting, the High Battlemage Erolith single-handedly held off the advancing army at the Ashen Harbor until the last boat of refugees left. Once alone, he fled to the Grand Temple of Liadon where he cast a powerful spell that shattered the sacred moon of Elar which rained down upon the continent of Aldor for three days. The rain of moonstone destroy the continent as well as much of the Ajokai horde, and sank the city of Estariol beneath the waves of Lake Keiho.Notable People
