Esperroch

The small community of Esperroch was built as a midway point for travelers along the Silver Road through the Ernleb Forest. The settlement began as a lone inn called the Treestride Rest, but over time a few dozen individuals looking for a simpler life settled down and the tavern grew into a small village. The village has a large number of empty houses that are rented out as bungalows; those living in the town believe the empty homes were built optimistically in hopes they would attract new settlers. However, the grim truth is that these homes were once occupied, but their inhabitants were killed by an illithid... and forgotten by all who once knew them.
