The people of Daggerford, fed up with their imitation Council of Merchants known as the Council of Guilds and their ridiculous trade and tax laws overthrew the council in a bloody public show using guillotines.   Proud of their victory, the people elected a distant descendant of Tyndal "Daggerford" to take the throne. This bloodline has remained in power ever since.
