Highlands

The Highlands is a historic region of the Dalelands. Culturally, the Highlands and the Lowlands diverged from the later somewhere around 2000 of the First Era into the modern period. The term is also used for the area north and east of the Highland Boundary Fault, although the exact boundaries are not clearly defined, particularly to the west.   The area is very sparsely populated, with many mountain ranges dominating the region, including the tallest mountain range in the world, The Spine.   The Highland Council is the administrative body for much of the Highlands, with its administrative center in Tarrin.   The highlands is the only area in the Dalelands to have the taiga biome.
