In History

The 'Greymen' or 'Greys' are some of the oldest Cryptids on Asyur. While the major populace dismisses the stories of grey men coming to take you in the night as stories of Ghouls, there are those that believe they are indeed a different species, from before the Convergence of the Spheres and have been observing the human species since they were but cavemen and nomads in the now sunken northern continent.

In academic circles, it is believed they are not native to Asyur and are believed to have originated from beyond the stars. How they got to the world of Asyur is unknown, but their rarity leads scholars to believe that if they came to the world by a singular Spelljammer. Where this ship is, no one can really say, making this just a theory.

No known bodies are available to study, as all races native or not to Asyur, kill a doppelganger when it is found, their natural alien features causing much disgust from the terrestrial races.

Doppelgangers are monstrous humanoids infamous for their innate shapeshifting abilities, which allow them to mimic almost any humanoid creature they encountered.
