GAI

GAI--Ground-based Ancient Intelligence. Originally a "local node" of the OAI's awareness. After The Sundering, in which GAIs original personality was essentially lobotomized, it initially tended to a more literal interpretation of Instrumentality programming, as opposed to the more fuzzy logic used by the OAI. Over time, however, a newer personality eventually began emerging, giving the GAI characteristics similar to a petulant genius youngling. Since it also had direct control of one of the Cloud nodes, it may have been the source of the Vanar , *tungu , and many other chimeric creatures. A bored super-genius with too much power and too little ability to consider long term consequences of its actions. The OAI (Orbital AI) & The GAI (Ground-based AI) were initially copies of each other, but split when The Sundering severely damaged one of the major comm nodes, it also produced EMP & atmospheric debris/dust (ala Krakatoa) preventing proper syncing. They developed separate personalities over the time frame between the accident and comm being reconstructed. Because of the influence of the GAI on the Vanar and the Kefla , it is considered a god by both species. While the Kattan (i)may(/i) also have been the result of the GAIs influence with the Ithaga, but most scholars believe the divergence of the Kattanu from the Ithaga was the result of the generic programming in rogue Cloud elements released during the Sundering.
