Enlightened Overpass

The Enlightened Overpass is a monumental bridge that stretches across the Marblehaven Divide, connecting the continents of Aspor and Ofrana. Towering above the ocean, the bridge is supported by the majestic, motionless forms of empyreans—celestial beings who volunteered for this eternal duty during ancient times. Their immense bodies hold up the bridge as though it were weightless, symbolizing peace, unity, and the divine between the lands. The pathway, made of enchanted stone, radiates a gentle golden light that never dims, offering guidance and calm to those who travel its length. Walking across the bridge is said to invoke a sense of enlightenment and serenity, as if the celestial power within the empyreans subtly touches the soul of every traveler.
Points of Interest The Radiant Respite Halfway across the overpass, travelers come across a rest stop known as the Radiant Respite, a combination shop and tavern. Built into the side of one of the empyreans’ immense legs, this quaint yet elegant establishment is run by an enigmatic celestial-touched barkeep named Elysia. She serves magical drinks that rejuvenate the spirit and food infused with radiant energy, said to keep travelers energized for the rest of their journey. The Respite also serves as a place for weary travelers to rest, offering comfortable rooms with large windows overlooking the Divide, where the gleaming ocean and the celestial beings below inspire a sense of calm.
The Empyrean's Reflection At the highest point of the bridge, where the stone curves slightly skyward, there is an ancient reflective pool known as the Empyrean's Reflection. The water in the pool never spills, always remaining calm despite the winds and motion of the bridge. Legends say that gazing into the pool reveals visions of one's past lives, glimpses of future destinies, or even moments of divine clarity. Pilgrims from both continents travel here, hoping to meditate by the pool and experience its profound insights.
The Golden Meridian Near the bridge's final third toward Ofrana, a radiant archway known as the Golden Meridian stands tall. It is said that those who pass through the archway receive a blessing of protection from the empyreans themselves. Some travelers claim to feel a surge of warmth or hear whispered words of encouragement as they step through. Many believe that the empyreans watch over those who traverse the overpass, with the Golden Meridian acting as a conduit for their celestial power, safeguarding travelers against danger for the rest of their journey.

History

When Marblehaven fell during the Pandora War, and the marblehaven divide separted the continents. The marblehaven divide was stopping many trade routes and with only ships being able to apss through it seemed like commerce was going to come to a standstill. A number of clerics prayed for divine intervention. Eventually summoning a group of empyreans who used their divine power to make an overpass they have held up over their heads for centuries.
