Elf

Elves are a magical people of otherworldly grace, living in the world but not entirely part of it. They live in places of ethereal beauty, in the midst of ancient forests or in silvery spires glittering with faerie light, where soft music drifts through the air and gentle fragrances waft on the breeze. Elves love nature and magic, art and artistry, music and poetry, and the good things of the world.   With their unearthly grace and fine features, elves appear hauntingly beautiful to humans and members of many other races. They are slightly shorter than humans on average, ranging from well under 5 feet tall to just over 6 feet. They are more slender than humans, weighing only 100 to 145 pounds. Males and females are about the same height, and males are only marginally heavier than females.   Elves’ coloration encompasses the normal human range and also includes skin in shades of copper, bronze, and almost bluish-white, hair of green or blue, and eyes like pools of liquid gold or silver. Elves have no facial and little body hair. They favor elegant clothing in bright colors, and they enjoy simple yet lovely jewelry.

Fellshade Remembrance   Overview: Fellshade Remembrance is a solemn yet sacred holiday that honors the Elves’ connection to nature, the tragedy of the Pandora War, and their enduring spirit of survival. It commemorates the time when the Elven people stood at the brink of extinction during the Pandora War, and how they ultimately rebuilt their society from the ashes of Aspor Forest. While it serves as a reminder of the past, it also celebrates the resilience and adaptability of the Elves, marking their transition from the sacred forest of Lin'Selvéar to the verdant haven of Cyankadi Forest and beyond.   Events of the Day: The First Light Ritual: At dawn, Elves across Astrium gather in natural sanctuaries, groves, or city squares to witness the First Light Ritual. As the sun rises, a druid or priestess kindles a flame with primal magic, symbolizing the light of the past Elven civilization that was lost during the war. This flame is then used to light smaller fires across each settlement, reminding the Elves of their undying connection to nature and their ability to reclaim the light of their ancestors.   Song of the Sacred Trees: In the afternoon, Elves gather in communal circles to sing the Song of the Sacred Trees—a haunting, melodious tribute to the fallen Aspor Forest. The song weaves together the voices of Elves, recalling the beauty of their ancient homeland, the wyverns they once rode, and the close bonds they shared with the dragons. It is a ritual meant to summon the spirits of the sacred trees and to remind the Elves of their deep roots within the natural world, even as they move forward into new lands.   The Wyvern Flight: In remembrance of the Elves’ historical role as wyvern riders, trained wyvern mounts are flown over Elven cities during the Wyvern Flight. In places like Cyankadi and other major Elven cities, the spectacle of the graceful wyverns soaring overhead is accompanied by magical illusions of Aspor’s past glory. For Elves, this event is both a solemn reminder of their fallen comrades and a celebration of their continued bond with the creatures of the land.   The Scattered Leaves Procession: Near dusk, Elves take part in the Scattered Leaves Procession, where they walk silently through their settlements, carrying leaves from the trees around them. Each Elf silently offers a leaf to the wind, letting it scatter through the air, representing their ancestors who fought bravely during the Pandora War and those lost when Aspor fell. In Cyankadi, where trees have been grown into elegant homes, this procession weaves through the living architecture, allowing participants to feel connected to the ancient forest.   The Gathering of Kin: As night falls, Elves come together for the Gathering of Kin—a grand communal feast held under the stars. Magic is used to create ethereal lights and projections of the long-lost Aspor forest, while Elven music fills the air. It is a time to share stories of their ancestors, of their magical traditions, and of their unbreakable spirit. During this feast, those of different Elven subtypes—including High Elves, Wood Elves, and even Astral Elves—gather together to strengthen their bonds and honor their shared heritage, despite the differences that have emerged over time.   Twilight of the Fallen: The day ends with the Twilight of the Fallen, a solemn vigil where Elves light small floating lanterns imbued with primal magic, sending them into the sky or across lakes and rivers. Each lantern symbolizes an Elf lost to the Pandora War or the deforestation of Aspor. The lanterns glow softly as they drift, a tribute to their lost homeland and the sacrifices made to ensure the survival of their people. It is a reminder that even in their darkest moments, the Elves have always found a way to endure.   Symbolism: Fellshade Remembrance is a day of both mourning and celebration for the Elves. It honors the ancient city of Lin'Selvéar and the fallen Aspor Forest while celebrating the strength of the Elven people in rebuilding their society in places like Cyankadi. The holiday also serves to renew the Elves' eternal connection to nature, magic, and their role as protectors of the land, reaffirming their vow to never let such devastation befall their world again.

    History

The Elves originally were living solely on the Eastern side of Astrium inhabiting the once large forest know as the of what is known as Aspor, which swept from where modern day Griffinweld all the way through to the only remaining part of true forest land in the savage grove. It was here that the Elves learned to harness the force of dragonkin and became some of the first wyvern riders. The original city of the Elves in Astrium is named Lin'Selvéar, which translates to "City of the Sacred Trees" in Elvish. This name reflects the deep connection the Elves have to the forest, symbolizing its sacred and protective nature, hidden within the vast expanse of the Sea of Trees.   The other beings of the land - Dwarf, Gnomes, and Dragonborn were on the other side of the Astrium with humans taking settlement in centre of the land when they first appeared.   The Elves lived in prosperity for many centuries, brokering peace with the dragons and gods of Astrium. However, during the Pandora war, the forest landscape was decimated and they were pushed to the brink of extinction with their final castle in the land now known as Blaezasia taking a final stand along side allies brought across the land. While Orcus - Sin of Pride was historically sealed away as the Elves put their pride of the forest behind and let the deforestation fully take over as the land of blazeasia split from the mainland, it left the Elves in disarray.   Some remaining high elves moved into diplomatic roles in some of the new human capitals, while the rest travered across the land into Cyankadi forest, utilising their primal magic to grow the trees into livable structures and built a new Elven Capital.   While other variants of elves have popped up over the years they still have in them their innate drive to protect nature and maitnain their whimsical curiousity of everything magical and mysterious.   Today, Elves are maintaining their ways with magic intertwining their cities. with the exception of Astral Elves, who are the forefront for technology after they appeared 10 years ago as a result of the Experiment.
